  1. Seems to be only on sas3 controllers - at least I’m my observation, the 9201-16i running jun’s 3617 displays smart data properly, connected to sata drives. the 9305-24i using jun’s 3617 connected to sas3 drives does not display smart data.
  2. Yeah I think maybe 3 options, one for defaults non-changed - two for 13-16 disks and then one for more than 16 maybe? i know I configured my server for 24 (24 port hba) + 12 USB ports and 0 esata ports so that came to a total of 36 possible disks if I enabled the internal data ports it would be another 10 but my case doesn’t hold all those physical HDDs so I doubt I will in my case Or maybe a prompt asking how many ports of each device type and then doing it that way? If it’s not such a pain to do that
  3. The ability to choose which options and maybe a quick blurb about what the options do would probably be good - even if the blurb is a cut and paste from what was discussed in the forum. We definitely need some kinda wiki with all this information, looking through lengthy posts in the forum can be tough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yeah I had to do the conversion with 24 disks too. This would be a big help I’m sure for a lot of people! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Definitely those come to mind and the internal usb and esata port config binary to hex conversion for those would be awesome maybe have something that asks - how many usbports, esata ports and then combines that info with the max disks question could generate the hex values for the user and add that to the json
  6. @pocopicowhat do you think about adding something to the script that would ask for max disk size and enable shr and modify the user_info.json / synoinfo bracket with the appropriate settings for models that don’t support shr out of the gate?
  7. True, but tc downloads and installs the extensions anyway for these models, maybe @pocopico could add logic to the build process that if the model has a network card that is included by default to skip the addition of the rp-ext for that device to the build.
  8. With mpt3sas using a 9305-24i even on jun’s loader I’m not seeing smart data there at all - check this below, is this an indication of a driver issue or a drive issue? It does seem to show properly on another server containing a 9201-16i assuming using the mpt2sas driver. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. An IT mode adapter preferable or can you configure your drives as a jbod
  10. Definitely let DSM manage it. There is a lot of argument re: software raid or hardware raid but imo software raid is far better now due to large disk sizes and file system advancements.
  11. Looks like pocopicos repo has mlx drivers for 22xs. Awesome
  12. Sounds good! Do you know off hand if there are mellanox driver for 22xs?
  13. While I have no data on the array I have some ability to experiment too so if I could be useful in that regard let me know. i have a x10srl-f board with a v4 xeon and an lsi 9305-24i card.
  14. I think it would be good to do as a driver pack - i think I want to migrate to the 22xs - i couldn’t get the drivers to work at all with tc and 3617 so i tried with 918, they worked there but I ran into that issue. for right now I had to fall back to jun’s 6.3.2 3617
  15. I think the same happens with mpt3sas on 918+ as well. I installed and then immediately got a critical os error on first boot and it prompts me to put in a support ticket - no option to repair system partition - after that when i reboot it wants to install DSM again.
  16. @pocopico did that output assist with the sas3 no disk issue I’m experiencing? Do I need to mod the .ko with the hba pci ID?
  17. @pocopico. Thank you again for your efforts. I appreciate all the continued help!

  19. @aigor I will going forward.
  20. @pocopico it seemed to download the driver and I see the lsi card using the command. But … no drives detected at initial install of the dsm os
  21. @pocopicois there something I missed with the mpt3sas driver? Do I have to edit the driver to add my card pci Id?
  22. Ok one last issue - I have an lsi 9305-24i card and it’s not detecting disks. Not sure if driver is installed, anything I can verify and check? Thanks!
  23. @pocopicoOk that seemed to work but I’m also seeing this relating to sata map Have you seen that before?
  24. @pocopico Going to the updated urls on GitHub shows a 404 in browser too
