mpluser Posted August 10, 2020 Share #254 Posted August 10, 2020 Hi All, Could you please add support for Broadcom NetXream bcm57760 NIC? The MB is from an Imedia S1800, basically is an ACER Verition M275. The NIC model was checked with a ubuntu live usb to make sure is correct. mpluser Posted August 12, 2020 Share #256 Posted August 12, 2020 Hi, the motherboard is with LGA775 CPU and without AHCI support for SATA, i would go with loader 1.02b and DSM 6.1.x. mpluser Posted August 13, 2020 Share #258 Posted August 13, 2020 Hi IG-88, thanks for confirmation. Extra lzma V4.8 , MBR tried too. Just in case , 3 USB sticks were tried with the same result. This motherboard has no serial port, i can't check it. Is the NO serial port and issue in booting process?
mpluser Posted August 15, 2020 Share #259 Posted August 15, 2020 Some updates : Just to avoid any problems with my settings/tools, I used the same image (1.02b MBR) , same Usb device for another PC. Just changing the MAC in the image, worked like a charm for second PC. I have no clue why is not working with my first PC.

Skyinfire Posted December 17, 2020 Share #266 Posted December 17, 2020 @IG-88 Hello. I have Lsi 9285CV-8e (it 100% work - i see it + HDDs in boot bios befor XPEnology start), and i see it compatible list. But when XPEnology 6.1.7 + Driver extension jun 1.02b (3617xs) starts, it doest'n work (no one disk in system from this controller). Why? Another controllers (fo example LSI SAS 9201-16i) work, but i need work Lsi 9285CV-8e.

Why? afaik a lsi sas2208 based controller should work, you could try loader 1.03b with added extra.lzma but i don't thing the age of the driver is a problem i'm not sure if controller need as IT firmware or can we switched into that mode the newer controller do have a mode for single disk equivalent to IT mode firmware, did you use this mode? a single disk in raid mode might not be detected (or maybe shown when part of a raid set) to see if its in wrong mode you could make the disk part of a raid0/1 set and try if the loader finds anything that way, the you know you need to switch to non raid mode
Skyinfire Posted December 19, 2020 Share #268 Posted December 19, 2020 Thank you for your answer. 15 часов назад, IG-88 сказал: you could try loader 1.03b I can't use 1.03b loader, bacause Asus Z170 PRO GAMING + Celeron g3930 сan start only at 6.1.7 (1.02b). 16 часов назад, IG-88 сказал: the newer controller do have a mode for single disk equivalent to IT mode firmware, did you use this mode? I don't understand the question. "newer controller" is what?? I have two controllers: LSI SAS 9201-16i and Lsi 9285CV-8e. The first one works, the second one doesn't. System ds3615xs 6.1.7 Jun's Mod V1. 02b + lzma 1.02b. The type of partition on disks does not matter at all. Because I don't see the disks themselves in the system. Here is the LSI SAS 9201-16i: Disks 8, 9 and 10 are in RAID5. Disk 11 has no partitions at all. The disk 12 has a Single partition (Basic). And here are the same disks connected on the same system via Lsi 9285CV-8e: The disks are simply not in the system. At the same time, that the Lsi 9285CV-8e controller itself is 100% serviceable, since it identifies all 5 disks before loading xpenology: From here I draw an obvious logical conclusion: "extra.lzma for ds3617 v4.8" either does not contain a driver for 9285CV-8e at all, or this driver is incorrect. Otherwise, everything would work exactly the same as with the 9201-16i. Аre you 100% sure that the driver is included in extra. lzma? Skyinfire Posted December 20, 2020 Share #271 Posted December 20, 2020 Great. As I understand it, IR-mode is RAID mode, and IT-mode is HBA (host bus adapter) mode. And all adapters for xpenology should be in IT-mode. All adapters in IR-mode are not compatible with xpenology, right? Why is this super-important information not listed in the compatibility list in a huge red font??? I selected the controller, relying entirely on the compatibility list. Picked it up. I bought it. And it doesn't work. Because there is no warning anywhere that all the controllers listed in the so-called "compatibility sheet" are actually useless garbage if they are in IR mode. See IG-88's previous post. There are some guides about flashing LSI adapters into IT mode (aka putting them into basic HBAs) Give it a try first. If it still doesn't work, then yeah maybe it is useless garbage to you. Good luck. williamstlr Posted January 20, 2021 Share #275 Posted January 20, 2021 Greetings, I'm trying to boot loader 1.03b for DS3617. With the vanilla loader the system will boot and my device is discoverable on the network. However, when I replace the vanilla extras with extra.lzma 4.8 for ds3617 the system still boots.....but never becomes discoverable on the network. From a live disk I can tell that the drivers being used are: NIC - e1000e Storage - mvsas I've tried the ds3615 loaders and extended extra.lzma as well to no avail. Any suggestions on what I can try next on here? I don't have a serial port to view output and this is a fresh install.
