Using SSD's for cache

Not sure if this has been asked around here, but I know many folks have been using NVME drives for r or r\w cache, but could I use a pair of SSD's in lieu? I would need to modify the drive count from 16 to 18 which i dont think thats too difficult.

I have tried it for a while. As soon as they fill up you start to get issues with writes / reads(and yes I overprovisioned SSDs and they were in good health). The NAS becomes unpredictable.

The worst part is when you remove cache (read or write) it messes up your apps. To this day I still have to run some commands manually: synoservice --start pgsql and synoservice --start synoindexd because Drive / Moments stopped working after SSD cache was removed.
