    Hello I have DS1621+ with 2 512Gb ssd disks these 2 are present in dsm,, I just added the third 4TB disk non ssd disk to sata 3. but i can't see it on DSM why?

    Hello to all, I would like to buy new hardware and need advice on choosing the moterboard and cpu. First of all I would like to install everything in a compact case type Fractal Design Node 804 with up to 6 disks 2 ssd. so the DS1621 + version is sufficient or am I wrong? In this case I can install micro atx motherboards. What motherboard and cpu do you recommend? How much ram? Also I already have in my possession a pci-e card with 4 1Gb intel Lan cards so I have to create a lacp aggregation of 5 cards. My idea is to install XPEnology on Proxmox por it is better baremetal? I will use my nas dsm to backup my data, photos and more, make backups in the cloud. I currently have a pc ocn proxmox on which there are 4 vm. so in case of Baremetal installation I should virtualize everything on DSM. What do you think?

    ti sei dissanguato con la motherboard e cpu...beh direi che p abbastanza esagerata come soluzione direi... io credo che a me un i7 sia sufficiente. il dsm è installato sul disco ssd giusto? ma è in raid con l'altro disco ho il secondo disco ssd fa da cache? cosa utilizzi su DSM per virtualizzare le macchine?

    Grazie mille per la risposta. quindi dici che meglio usare proxmox, forse dovrei chiedere a qualcuno che lo usa già per fare la scelta giusta. attualmente gira tutto su processore intel i5 serie 5 con 16 Gb di ram 2 dischi ssd da 512mb e poi 3 da 4Tb. Io ho installato su una chiavetta usb versione DSM 7.1.0.42661 molto semplicemente DS1621+. Sarei intenzionato anche ad acquistare nuovo hardware se serve.

    ok, so better install DS1621 +, in case you could always change version or am I wrong? a question, how do I already use proxmox on a pc, do I better virtualize XPEnology or install it on separate hardware?

    Buongiorno a tutti, ieri per la prima volta ho potuto testare XPEnology, e sono rimasto davvero sbalordito, nel senso che non pensavo che si potesse installare DMS su un hardware non originale. Ho diverse domande e dubbi. Si potrà installare sempre DSM ? c'è la possibilità remota che la casa metta dei blocchi e che non si possa piu installare? Attualmente a casa ho proxmox su un pc xon 2 dischi in raid sul quale girano 4 vm (home assistant , fotovoltaico, meteo e altro server. Mi conviene assemblare un case nuovo per nas con una cpu performante,una scheda madre adatta al case ed installare XPEnology direttamente sul pc e poi virtualizzare le macchine sopra? O mi conviene virtualizzare XPEnology? su proxmox? insomma vorrei dei suggerimenti da voi per capire casa mi conviene fare, o meglio come mi conviene procedere con l'installazione Il nas mi serve per i miei backup, sincronizzazione con i mie account in cloud, e per sincronizzare le foto sostituendo google foto. Non mi interessa la trascodifica, al momento ho installato la versione DS1621+. spero in uno vostro consiglio ed aiuto

    hi Peter the script you created is fantastic. you are the number one! I was wondering if this solution, that of baremetal can last a long time, in the sense, there is a danger that one day the DMS will no longer be possible to install it?
