  1. Is the LAN issue just with Realtec NICs only or people have issues with newer Intel NICs as well. I am NOT planning to get anything with more than 1Gig Intel NIC
  2. I was planning to use either DS918+ or DS920+. According to your link both have a limit of Max CPU Threads = 8 does it mean that I can't use a processor which supports >8 Threads OR DSM will work on those processors but it will only utilise 8 Threads and rest will just be ignored? What about i3 12100T or i3 13100T both have 4 core and max 8 Threads?
  3. Hi @blackmanga It may be a silly question but I really needs some guidance I am planning to build a custom Xpenology NAS using ARC loader. I currently have machine with Intel i5 7400 but I want to move to at least 10th gen i3 or i5. I started looking for i5-10400T but for some reason I can't find any new processors for sale (even T version of other 10 gens aren't available in my country). So my question to you is.. Is Xpenology compatible with latest 12 or 13 gen i3, i5 processors? If 12/13 are out of question, can I at least get 10th gen CPU like yours and don't apply any patches? I my case I don't need hardware transcoding. Are there other aspects of CPU (other than hardware transcoding) that are not compatible with Xpenology DSM 7.2
  4. Feeling brave enough to try it in next few days. Can you please advise, what did you mean by restore in steps 3.2 and 4.4. is it an option somewhere in settings of DSM. many thanks.
  5. Hi I wanted to ask fellow users to advise me for my scenario. I read Tutorial: Install/Migrate to DSM 7.x with TinyCore RedPill (TCRP) Loader but I am still confused. I am currently running DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 (Jun 1.04b / DS918+) on Lenovo V520 tower PC which has 2x4TB disks. I want to update to DSM 7 as well as replace existing HDDs with 2x 8TB HDDs. Ideally I would like to preserve my volumes, shares settings etc and the data. Given my scenario is it better to update from Jun 1.04b DS918+ to RedPill 1a (DS918+) in place or do a clean install? I have read the Migration section of the guide but it only talks about updating the DSM and not the replacing the disks so I am bit confused how to go about doing it. BTW, a fellow xpenology user suggested the following on reddit. I was going to follow that process until I read about DRIVE SLOT MAPPING in the this tutorial. Which got me confused if the below process will work for me or not. Any advise will be much appreciated.

  7. How do find post number (do you manually count them?). I can only see page number on the page
  8. I have found IG-88's thread but there are multiple links and I am struggling to understand which one to use. Can some one please help
  9. Hi @venno I am using DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 (on DS918+) and I have Intel SSD Pro 6000p Series 256GB, M.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD which is installed on motherboard's SSD slot (IBM branded mobo). The SSD appears in BIOS but for doesn't appear in DSM. I even ran the nvme list command but doesn't show anything. Can you please share the link to mod that you have applied to get this SSD to work Many thanks me@mymachine:/$ nvme list Node SN Model Namespace Usage Format FW Rev ---------------- -------------------- ---------------------------------------- --------- -------------------------- ---------------- -------- /dev/nvme0n1 -1 0.00 B / 0.00 B 1 B + 0 B /dev/nvme0n1p1 -1 0.00 B / 0.00 B 1 B + 0 B /dev/nvme0n1p2 -1 0.00 B / 0.00 B 1 B + 0 B /dev/nvme0n1p3 -1 0.00 B / 0.00 B 1 B + 0 B /dev/nvme0n1p4 -1 0.00 B / 0.00 B 1 B + 0 B
