  1. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2-23739 Update 2 - Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock J3355m, 8GB RAM - Additional comments: NIC: Intel Pro1000 CT (EXPI9301CT), works out of the box. SATA Controller: Highpoint Rocket 640L (4x SATA, Marvell 88SE9230). Sata controller needs flash! Without flash raid sets crash and system is not stable. (same problem on <DSM 6.2) With latest firmware from Digitus the DMESG errors disappear and system is very stable and fast. Digitus firmware for 88SE9230 (use freedos usb stick to flash) I also use SataPortMap=24 in GRUB to make my disks appear as disk 1-6. (onboard first) This is brand new cheap and fast system supporting max 6 disks and using <50W power on load.
  2. Did you flash your Marvell 88SE9230? I had many problems getting the card to work properly and stable. After digging around I found you can flash the card using a Freedos USB bootstick. In the end I used below firmware in my Highpoint Rochet 640L. Flash was quick and easy and all my problems disappeared. No more crashing raid sets and disabled disks. Link: Digitus firmware Thread on marvell-9230 Also I needed to edit GRUB to use onboard and PCIE controller and put the disks in the right order: onboard (sda, sdb), PCIE (sdc, sde, sdf, sdg) SataPortMap=24 and DiskIdxMap=0002
  3. Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2-23739 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock J3355M using realtek onboard NIC & Highpoint Rocket 640L (Marvell 88SE9230) - Additional comments: Quick boot and system works really well Needs SataPortMap=14 in GRUB (1 disk on onboard controller, 4 disk on Rocket 640L) to see all my disks. I also did try JUN's 1.04b and DSM 6.2.1, system was incredibly slow to boot and I could not get it see all my disks.
  4. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2-23739 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - M4A88T-M/USB3 (AMD chipset, 6x SATA), AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor - Additional comments: Blank install of DSM 6.2-23739 then update to DSM 6.2-23739 update2. Processor Recognized as Core i3, Linux identifies properly below the hood.
  5. Hi, Before building a new machine I decided to give the upgrade to QPEnology of my old Windows 2008 NAS a try. Machine consists of: AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor 6GB DDR3 RAM M4A88T-M/USB3 (6xSATA) with onboard AMD 1GBit NIC Dell Perc H800 (removed it afterwards, but worked fine) 4x Toshiba 7200RPM 3TB, 1 Seagate 5400RPM 3TB Everything was smooth sailing installing jun 1.03b & DSM_DS3615xs_23739. DSM reports Corei3 2 core processor, but all devices are recognized properly when going into OS with SSH. The "XPEnology Tool for Windows x64" in the tutorial section was very helpfull. After installing I updated to 6.2 update2 without any issue. Last 12 hours machine is checking the 8TB Raid 5 set, while I am copying back my bacup. About 50% cpu use and 10% memory use. I also tried to update to 6.2.1, but that does not work, the network card is missing. This was a knows issue I believe. Maybe I will order a cheap Intel 1GBit NIC and try again. Can anymore recommend a model which would work for sure? Quite suprised how smooth AMD hardware works. So before throwing it away, test if your older AMD stuff works
