How are you HP Gen8 owners using Jun's 1.01 when the Gen8 doesn't support UEFI? Are you modifying the image? Thanks!

Yes my gen7 is updated to 5644. According to others' posts it should work just fine. It seems that only the gen8 is having a problem. Something in the gen8 hardware or bios is causing it to reboot right after xpenoboot finishes loading. It may be a matter of turning off settings or disabling things in the gen8 bios to get 5644 to boot but the family needs their plex server.

Is your Gen 7 too updated to 5644 ? Currently have a baremetal Gen7, 5.2-5592, but I can't install 5592 update 4 anymore since 5644 is available. So I'm wondering about direct update my Gen7 to 5644 from Setting Panel. Yes my gen7 is updated to 5644. According to others' posts it should work just fine. New HP Gen 8 Installation, best practice?
seanmor69 replied to Monkeymonkey76's topic in DSM 5.2 and earlier (Legacy)
You can download from the link in post #10 here.. http://homeservershow.com/forums/index. ... /?p=102808 Also there are some great video guides by Technut: Cheers -
Same here, I have a real Synology box too in addition to my N54L. I would be happy to pay Synology for a supported version of DSM that I could install on my own hardware.

Successful update to update 2 on N54L here. I disabled https in DSM just to be safe then re-enabled it after the upgrade. I did have the first boot get stuck and had to hard power down and power up. Second boot, everything was fine. Thanks!

Upgrade on N54L went perfectly.. Thanks! Donation made. Keep up the great work!

This one is working for me on my N36L with Trantor's 5.0 beta: Western Digital SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Express (PCIe) Card http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GF1PC2/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hello, I got it installed on my N36L microserver per the instructions but one thing is different from the ESXI install is that I have the usbshare1 mounted which I'm guessing is the boot usb stick. Is this normal or did I do something wrong in the install? It's not a problem except that the usbshare1 is shared and visible on the network. Thanks
