wpyung Posted May 20, 2020 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2020 On an HP N40L I followed the promptsand upgraded from 5.2 to 6... Using the old boot stick the system would not boot giving messages about files not found in /tmp After a lot of grief, to make a new XPENology boot stick I now get the problem below. I have used the loader synoboot 6.2 put in new files on the 2nd partition (from DSM_DS3615xs_24922.pat), set the pid, vid, serial number (as it was on 5.2) and MAC address. Then upgraded the BIOS and disabled the C1E. Now at last the RAID array is accessed and the system is on the network with its original IP address I think it is running 6.2 24922 However I can no longer login to the web interface. I get refused to connect. I can connect via putty to the terminal. I ran these command to allow me to see the status of the synoservices synobootseq --set-boot-done synobootseq --is-ready Any ideas on how to progress ? Below is a selection of log files. Let me know what else would be useful. thanks Peter bash-4.3# synoservice -status service [snmp] status=[error] required upstart job: [snmpd] is stop. ======================================= Service [pkgctl-Docker] status=[disable] required upstart job: [pkgctl-Docker] is stop. ======================================= Service [bluetoothd] status=[disable] required upstart job: [bluetoothd] is stop. ======================================= Service [synoovs-vswitch] status=[disable] required upstart job: [synoovs-vswitch] is stop. ======================================= Service [synovpnclient] status=[enable] required upstart job: [synovpnclient] is start. ======================================= service [scemd] status=[error] required upstart job: [scemd] is stop. ======================================= Service [syslog-acc] status=[disable] required upstart job: [syslog-acc] is stop. required share: [Archive] is available. ======================================= Service [synomkflvd] status=[disable] required upstart job: [synomkflvd] is stop. ======================================= Service [s2s_daemon] status=[enable] required upstart job: [s2s_daemon] is start. ======================================= Service [ldap-server] status=[disable] required upstart job: [slapd-adapter] is stop. ======================================= service [iscsitrg] status=[error] required upstart job: [iscsitrg-adapter] is start. ======================================= Service [crond] status=[enable] required upstart job: [crond] is start. ======================================= Service [natpmpd] status=[disable] required upstart job: [natpmpd] is stop. ======================================= Service [synomkthumbd] status=[disable] required upstart job: [synomkthumbd] is stop. ======================================= Service [atalk] status=[disable] required upstart job: [netatalk] is stop. ======================================= Service [synonetd] status=[enable] required upstart job: [synonetd] is start. ======================================= Service [btacd] status=[disable] required upstart job: [btacd] is stop. ======================================= Service [heartbeat] status=[disable] required upstart job: [heartbeatd] is stop. ======================================= Service [tftp] status=[disable] required upstart job: [opentftp] is stop. ======================================= Service [synocrond] status=[enable] required upstart job: [synocrond] is start. ======================================= Service [synocgid] status=[enable] required upstart job: [synocgid] is start. ======================================= Service [synogpoclient] status=[enable] required upstart job: [synogpoclient] is start. ======================================= Service [ftpd-ssl] status=[disable] required upstart job: [ftpd] is stop. IG-88 Posted May 20, 2020 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2020 install 6.2.3 25426, the 24922 (aka 6.2.2) needs different driver (extra.lzma), when using 6.2.3 the "old" driver package that is default on the loader will work again and the onboard nic will work

DaWorm Posted November 6, 2020 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2020 I'm having the same problem running 6.1.7. Don't know if I should respond here or make a new post... root@WormNAS:~# more /etc.defaults/VERSION majorversion="6" minorversion="1" productversion="6.1.7" buildphase="GM" buildnumber="15284" smallfixnumber="3" builddate="2018/12/26" buildtime="08:39:07" I'm running bootloader 1.02b on ESXI 6.0.0. I can access my files, my Plex server is running and I can get to the Plex web page, but I cannot get to DSM. I could when I first installed everything, but after a power loss, when it came back up, I could no longer get to the web interface. Everything I can find about the error... 2020/11/06 09:05:00 [emerg] 17636#17636: socket() [::]:5000 failed (97: Address family not supported by protocol) ... says that IPV6 is either not enabled or not working. You can edit that line out of the various server sections, but as soon as you try to restart nginx, it comes back and nginx fails to start again. Very frustrating. bearcat Posted November 6, 2020 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2020 @DaWorm 1 - Are you running a HP N40L (or other G7 microserver)? 2 - Did you update to DSM 6.x from DSM 5.x? 3 - If No, make a new thread and fill in all the details. 4 - if Yes on 2: sudo rm -r .xpenoboot
DaWorm Posted November 6, 2020 Share #7 Posted November 6, 2020 1 - Are you running a HP N40L (or other G7 microserver)? No. But this was the only thread in the site search I found with my exact error, and I hoped that someone who had solved it on one set of hardware could help out. I doubt this particular error is hardware specific (but it could be). 2 - Did you update to DSM 6.x from DSM 5.x? Yes and no. Since I'm on ESXI, the old Xpenology is in a different VM, on a different virtual disk. Only the pass through PCI raid controller and hard drives were carried over, not the datastore with the old Xpenology bootloader or DSM version. 3 - If No, make a new thread and fill in all the details. Will do. 4 - if Yes on 2: sudo rm -r .xpenoboot See #2. Thanks, Jeff
wpyung Posted November 10, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted November 10, 2020 I never managed to resolve this. A total reinstall made things worse - the install never completed In the end I installed Ubuntu onto the hard disks and recovered my data from backup disks...
