  1. So when installing DSM on my gen10 microserver in ESXi i gave 4TB initially to an 8TB (7.27TB formatted) to the volume thinking I could expand it later. However, I can't seem to expand the volume. It sees it as a 4TB volume in a 7.27TB drive but when I click Create, the Storage Manager doesnt see the Drive 5 where the 4TB is, only Drive 1 where the Synology OS is. How do I expand the storage so that DSM 6.2 sees the whole drive?
  2. Thanks, after poking around in the ESXi I tried that and it worked.
  3. Using a genuine 918 serial and mac I found, allowed me to generate a new pair which did work (by altering the grub at boottime using c to access the command line). However, I still have the same problem. No access to the ESXi interface as long as the DSM VM is running. If i launch the grub command line and type 'mac1' it shows me the one i updated to. (and sn also) However, if i go into system settings in the DSM UI, it shows me the old one. the SN is updated in the DSM UI. I think I'll start again from scratch. I really need access to the ESXi interface while DSM is running.
  4. I should mention that I used the same Mac address in the grub.cfg as exists on my microserver. So do I need to change this? Possible without reinstall? How? And what should I change it to?
  5. I have a freshly installed HP Microserver Gen10 running DSM 6.2.2-24922 / 1.04b / ESXi 6.7 (Free)/ DS918+ and whenever I start up the VM in the ESXi UI, i can no longer access interface (site cant be reached). I can then only reach the DSM interface. To get to the ESXi UI again, i have to shutdown DSM. Is it possible to access them both on the same IP address? The ESXi is running on port 80 and DSM is running on port 5000. This is all from my internal LAN.
  6. Long time lurker. Finally took the plunge and bought a HP microserver gen10 with 8GB ram for less than an empty two bay Synology 218j 219j 220j. Thanks to the guide from luchuma (Tutorial: Install DSM 6.2 on ESXi 6.7) i've managed to get DSM 6.2.2-24922 working with Jun's Loader 1.04b in ESXi with the DS918+ image without too much trouble. Still some things to work out.
