  1. I think you may have the ethernet cable plugged in to the wrong ethernet port. Try plugging it in to one of the other ports.
  2. Thanks again for this info. I went from 5.5 days to 3.5 days using these tweaks!!
  3. My experiences pretty much echo sbv3000's. If you move the 3TB drive to your other system, it should just appear as volume 2 and all your files will be intact.
  4. I re-enabled the Marvell 9172 and had it set to AHCI from Bios and tested with Ubuntu Live 15.10. It booted up fine and was able to recognize all the SATA ports.
  5. Thank you for this info. I have made the changes according to the links.
  6. Sorry. I have not tried any other OS. I am currently in the middle of upgrading all the eight hard drives in my volume to 8TB drives. It is very slow, taking about 5 days for each drive. When I am done with this current drive, I can attempt to boot in to Ubuntu LiveUSB.
  7. Hello. Yes. As I previously wrote, XPEnoboot 5,1-5055 will work with all SATA ports, but only when set to IDE mode. If set to AHCI mode, the "=trigger device plug event=" issue will appear. I am currently using XPEnoboot 5,2-5592 with the Marvell 9172 disabled and BIOS set to AHCI mode. Thank you for looking in to this.
  8. When I first started to try out XPEnology, I did so with an Intel SS4200. I bought a used one for $75US. The great thing about the SS4200 is that everything worked including WOL out of the gate. I had XPEnoboot 5.2-5592 running perfectly within half an hour.
  9. I currently have four 8TB drives in my 8 drive array (in the process of making all eight drives 8TBs). There's no denying that the rebuilds are excruciatingly slow, but other than that, they are are fine. I have never had any desync issues.
  10. Happy holidays to all! Huge thanks for the dev team and all your efforts!!
  11. Thanks for the suggestion!! I followed what you did and performance is vastly improved for repairing and expanding volumes. @ Bhakti and brantje: Thanks for the info. I now have serial numbers and MAC addresses done. Working perfectly!!
  12. I've been using this Pat file, and it fails to load during setup of synology assistant. I need to wipe the existing setup, I have nothing installed on my drives yet. Clearly I'm still doing something wrong, but what ? Try changing the SATA ports your drives are connected to.
  13. Hello. Did you use the DOS tools to flash the firmware to change MAC address? Thanks in advance.
  14. What manufacturer and model is the ram? They are stock Hynix RAM that came with a Mac Pro 5,1. I don't have model.
  15. Avoton C2550 ASRock C2550D4I 4x1GB ECC DDR3 unbuffered Built-in Marvell SE9230, SE9172, and Intel SATA controllers Built-in Intel i210 Seagate 8TB archive hard drives XPEnoboot 5.1-5055, everything works except wake-on-LAN. XPEnoboot 5.2-5592, SATA2 controllers need to be disabled. Wake-on-LAN works.
  16. Just wanted to report my experiences with the C2550D4I. My system: - ASRock C2550D4I with 4x1GB DDR3 ECC RAM - Silverstone DS380 - Hard drives: 3x8TB, 2x3TB, 3x2TB (8x8TB soon) on all the internal SATA3 controllers - XPEnoboot 5.1-5055 BIOS Config: - Advanced > Super IO Configuration > Serial Port 1 Configuration > Serial Port (Disabled)
 - Advanced > Super IO Configuration > SOL Configuration > Serial port (Disabled) - Intel RC Setup > South Bridge Chipset Configuration > SATA 3 Configuration > SATA Mode Selection = IDE What works: 1, All SATA controllers, so it is possible to have 12 hard drives connected. 2. Both Intel LAN ports. What doesn't work: 1. Wake on LAN. I also tested with XPEnoboot 5.2-5592 before reverting to 5.1-5055. Here are my experiences with it. What works: 1. All the SATA3 controllers, so it is possible to have 8 hard drives connected. 2. Both Intel LAN ports. What doesn't work: 1. The SATA2 controllers, so you will lose the ability to connect 4 hard drives. Things I have not tried: 1. iSCSI 2. Installing or using packages 3. SSD cache 4. Hot spare 5. Changing serial number and LAN MAC addresses I hope this helps others looking to use this motherboard. Also, I wanted to pass along a huge THANKS to the debs who make XPEnology.
