Trabalhador Anonimo Posted December 17, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2022 (edited) Hi, my hardware: MB: M5A78L-M LX/BR CPU: Athlon 2 X4 RAM: 12GB HDD: 3x 1TB + 1x 2TB Onboard NIC: Realtek® 8111E I had tried so many variations of installation and got stuck at the end. Last attempt was with DS3615xs 6.1 Jun's Mod V1.02b with DSM_DS3615xs_24922.pat. I had prepare USB stick, boot up the computer, and send .pat via Firefox. I got stuck at 40% for almost 3 hours, but it went on to 100%. After that a count down of 10 minutes stated. I get happy after all, but only for those 10 minutes. The computer reboot and guess what: no more access via network. The computer do not show on Synology Assistance, nor on find.synology.com nor even on Advanced IP scanner. I reboot the computer with a new usb stick with tinycore-redpill and the NIC works fine. I rebooted again with stick DSM_DS3615xs and get stuck again. Any suggestions before I gave up? Best regards. The C1E function in the bios (in some HP machines) needs to be deactivated. "... its not specific for amd, its just that most people used a special hp microserver with a (older) amd cpu but if you got it already booting up properly and found it in network it should not be a c1e problem 1 hour ago, Trabalhador Anonimo said: I´ll try https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/65408-automated-redpill-loader-arpl/ after learn how things works. dont mess to much with older dsm 6.x, its already dead as dsm 6.2 will stop getting any security updated in june 2023 if setting up a new system you should invest you time in the new (opensource) redpill based loaders like arpl or tcrp there is also a menu version of the tcrp loader here: https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/tinycore-redpill
Trabalhador Anonimo Posted December 17, 2022 Author Share #5 Posted December 17, 2022 Will it be possible to install 7.x to this old hardware?

Trabalhador Anonimo Posted December 19, 2022 Author Share #7 Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) I cannot install any thing after DSM_DS3615xs_23739_2.pat with any loader. Ass soon as I do, the network card stops working. I have another card, but it is RTL8169SC. I do not know if this chiset has the same problem. I´ll try to find new card. My MB has 6 sata ports, but I also have PCI/SATA card. Is it possible to use this PCI cards as more ports for HDD? Is the loader compatible with BCM5720 - Dual-Port 1GBASE-T - high profile? Trabalhador Anonimo Posted December 22, 2022 Author Share #8 Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) I could make it work, but don´t ask why, but it only works with a 4GB USB stick. Now it is working with 7.1 and DSM_DS3615xs_42962. I had setup a second network card, but it does not accept it. Is there a way to fix this? I try to install update 1 to DSM_DS3615xs_42962 and lost everything, i had to start all over again.

Trabalhador Anonimo Posted March 10, 2023 Author Share #11 Posted March 10, 2023 I move from DDSM_DS3615xs_42962 to synology_broadwellnk_3622xs+and had the same problem to upgrade to U2, U3 and U4, but I manage to update my box to U4 using this procedure: regular install of 7.1 with U1 using tcrp 0.9.4.3; On GUI, manual update to U2; On reboot, move the cursor back to TCRP and boot; Connect via SSH and ./rploader.sh update sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate ds3622xsp-7.1.1-42962 Reboot; Move the cursor back top "verbose - USB" option. To upgrade to U3: Manual upgrade on GUI - no farther actions To upgrade to U4: On GUI, manual update to U4; On reboot, move the cursor back to TCRP and boot; Connect via SSH and ./rploader.sh update sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate ds3622xsp-7.1.1-42962 Reboot; Move the cursor back top "verbose - USB" option. It works like a charm.

Trabalhador Anonimo Posted May 10, 2023 Author Share #13 Posted May 10, 2023 It is working on 7.2RC like a charm. On 7.1 only 5 of 6 sata ports worked. On 7.2, all of 6 ports are working.
