[SOLVED] SATA II vs SATA III- any realistic benefit?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am trying to find out whether there is any REAL benefit in getting a motherboard

with SATA III ports to FULLY support the modern SATA III hard disks available in the market.

In terms of transfer data speed, any HUGH difference?

OR

No need to buy a modern motherboard, just use the existing motherboard with SATA II ports

and that will be sufficient?

Thank you.
