Great info! I've been following this thread and the dsm 4.1 thread for some time now. I'm new to this forum and to dsm in general I've been trying to get dsm 4.2 to install on my supermicro x7spa working with either the lsi raid 9650se or lsi raid 9750. It works fine with the onboard SATA ports but can get it to install with either raid controllers...it fails. With trantor's modded build(s), I was able to get through the initial install process...but when it reboots it loses all its settings/files. The synology assistant is stalled at the point where it wants to write the final configuration. Any ideas? I have the drives raided under the lsi bios...should I set it up with no raid t all and have the dsm os create the raid?

I successufly install DSM 4.2 build 3202 from this topic on moverboard Supermicro X7SPA-H. And add controler for 2 HDD to pci-e slot.

Bonjour, J'ai une carte mère MiniITX SuperMicro X7SPA-HF-D525 avec 2 ports réseau. DSM DS3612xs_3202-Repack. J'avais activé le LinkAgregation, mais je ne gagnais pas grand chose au niveau du débit. En usage famillial, avec 4 connections simultanées, le goulot d'étranglement n'est pas dû au réseau, mais au contrôleur SATA / CPU. (Atom 525 2 x 1,8G) (J'ai 6 disques 1T 7200 pour un débit de plus de 115M en écriture pour de gros fichiers sur 1 port réseau) Sur une Asrock FM2A85X-ITX, avec 6 x WD 2T SATA2 Green, je frise les 100M avec les mêmes fichiers (CPU FM2 A4-5300) Je dédiais la carte carte mère à une solution HA, mais j'ai lu que les 2 Syno devaient avoir les mêmes caractéristiques... Il faudrait que je fasse le test avec une Asus P8H77-I avec une carte PCI-E TPLINK TG-3468 et quelques disques. Mais je n'ai malheureusement pas 6 T sous la main. MsX

I know this is slightly off topic, but after playing around with XPENOLOGY and HP N40L for a while, I keep on thinking if we can do the same thing with QNAP OS, i.e., installing QNAP OS on other hardwares....If so, that would be rather fun, imagine a PC running dual QNAP OS and SYNOLOGY OS, and no one has to choose between these two any more. I did some research, and found QNAP OS can be directly flashed upon Cisco NSS 322, 324, 326 series (discontinued products after Cisco left NAS business). Also, someone on QNAP forum claims that the QNAP OS for TS-659 would work on the following motherboards: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P, and Gigabyte EP43-UD3L, and supermicro X7SPA-H, without having to work on the kernel mod. I guess the theory is the same as XPENOLOGY, so long as a mb has the same SATA controller and LAN chip (must be dual lan physically), the OS would recognize any box as the real thing. Considering the surpermicro board is only 180 bucks on amazon, I may well take it for a spin...still need to buy a mini itx box though...will see. Still, just a stranger thought after a few long nights tweaking with XPENOLOGY.

Попробовал запустить на материнке Supermicro X7SPA-H (Атом 510, 6 дисков SATA). Все прекрасно запустилось, жду новых дисков для окончательного перехода.
