I've attached an generic wifi adapter (lsusb: Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter), but xpenology doesn't see it.
Would it be possible to include those drivers? Required module is rt2x00usb

I think x86 bootloader, but that is not possible since Synology went full 64bit.

They are cumulative. My advice is try updating in a VM first.
You can also set the auto update setting to download updates only, this way you don't need to wait 30 sec for the download xD.

Ehh that is all good but where is the src for DSM 6??
Afaik .pat files are just zipped / gzipped files. Which contain the real os.
Xpenology is just somekind of 'emulator' of the Synology bios.

Attach both disks to a PC and run a SMART check.
If one disk is healty then it may be possible to reassemble the raid using Ubuntu and mdadm (The raid software Synology uses).
If both disks are 'dead' then i'm afraid the data went to bit heaven.

Hi NasMaster,
The chipset (c226) is listed on the hardware db page: https://xpenology.us/hardware-db/hardware/motherboard
So i'd assume that it will work.

Thats possible. But you should first add 2* 2tb as SHR-1, then you can extend the shr-1 volume with the 4tb disk.

Oh oh... it says crashed, i'm not sure now if you will be able to recover your data.
Do you have backups of the most important files?

No need for being rude, we are here to help you.
That you didn't get an answer could have many reasons.
I searched the forum for '945GCT-M' (General section), but nothing came up, so it looks like you're the first one with this bord.

Updated a VM, needed to reboot.
After reboot everything was running fine.

Just my opinion, no. You won't need ECC ram for home use on a NAS.
The chance that a RAM bit gets corrupt on a home use server is almost 0.
Few links, maybe you've visted them already

I use this cooler (Noctua NH-L9i) on a i5-4460, getting really good tempratures, and its almost silent.
Don't have a decibelmeter here, but there are some reviews that mention them.

Way too overpriced for what you get.
You can go socket 1150 with a relatively cheap bord.
I would suggest core i5 or better.
This one seems much used: https://xpenology.us/hardware-db/hardware/motherboard/gigabyte/ga-h97n-wifi-or-h97n-wifi
And i have this one: https://xpenology.us/hardware-db/hardware/motherboard/asrock/z97e-itxac
True, you come 2 ports short but you can solve that with a PCI-e sata / sas card.
