Hallo, ich würde auch dafür plädieren, über einen DynDNS-Service zu gehen und nicht direkt über QuickConnect. Ich finde, dafür das man die DSM-Software nutzt, sollte man nun nicht auch noch zusätzlich QucikConnect nutzen. Zudem ist mir bisher nicht bekannt, was alles über QuickConnect läuft, welche Daten etc. Ich bin mit Strato sehr zufrieden und kann meinen MIcroserver immer erreichen.

Hi, kurze Frage: Du bootest von einer micro-SD Karte die du in den Kartenschacht steckst? Ich wollte meinen USB Stick ggf. mal ersetzen und eine micro-SD Karte nutzen. Danke und Gruß, Moritz

Hallo, Also mit einem USB Stick dürfte es eigentlich nichts zu tun haben. Um Fehler auszuschließen wäre es vll. ratsam, den Stick per Script auszuwerfen. Ansonsten hilft ein Blick ins Protokoll immer. Stelle den Ruhezustand mal auf 10 Minuten ein und entferne die Netzwerkkabel. Zumindest in der Theorie sollte das gute Stück nach ca. 10 Minuten einen Spindown veranlassen. Bei mir hat mal DVB Link einen Ruhezustand verhindert, ist aber schon ein paar Versionen her. Hi Trantor, Ist it possible to integrate the driver for the pctv 461e? Unfortunately the Stick is working with Video Station but not working with DVB Link in the newest version. The DVB Link Support team says, that there is a bad driver. Works fine on HP Microserver Gen 8 bare metal. I have also to restart "hard" after the timer finished.

Hi MonkeyMonkey, I don't think that it's necessary to control the fan. First of all the HP Microserver Gen 8 isn't very loud (you can change the fan if it is to loud for you) and the second part is, that the G1610T is near "idle" the most time (in my case). My Microserver Gen 8 is in a little Ikea Shelf (Besta) with one extra 92mm fan in the shelf - the temperatures are ok. You can control the fan with the DSM but I have the impression that this feature isn't working. The Control CPU power state (script) works very well, my G1610T is most time on 1.600 Mhz and not on 2.300 Mhz. I have installed my Xpenology nativ on the hardware and I would not do anything else in the future.

Hi MonkeyMonkey, I'm using XPenology with a native installation on a HP Gen 8. In my opinion the fan is silent enough - if I'm a few meters away from the NAS I can't hear it. Everything else works really nice. The dual LAN Ports are also supported by the DSM and they are shown in the Network-Configuration. Kind regards, Moritz

Hallo schulzm, bei mir ist ein PCTV 461e im Einsatz, der aber im Moment Schwierigkeiten mit DSM 5.2 hat und von DVB Link nicht erkannt wird. Die normalen EPG Daten reichen für mich bisher vollständig aus - ich finde das lang dicke. Im Moment gehts leider bei mir nicht, ansonsten aber eine tolle Sache!

Hi, I got it. I have read the PID and VID with the tool SIV with Windows 7 (unplug the USB-Stick form the NAS). After changing the syslinux.cfg (just editing the PID and VID in every line / entry) the USB-Stick is automatically unmount after a restart. Thank you very much! Moritz

Normally I'm working with the "unmount-script" but unfortunately I still can see the Boot-Stick in the File-Station etc. so I would like to use your script. Could you take a look on my two links? Hallo Marco, an meinem HP Microserver Gen 8 klappt es ganz hervorragend. Er bootet täglich wie geplant, ebenso fährt er wie geplant herunter - alles super. Gruß, Moritz

Hallo together, my name is Moritz and I'm using XPEnology since a week with a brand new HP Microserver Gen 8 (G1610T, 2GB RAM, 2x 2TB WD Green). Before the HP Mircoserver Gen 8 I used an Synology DS-211+ with the same above called WD Green 2x 2 TB in a RAID 1 (SHR). Since I am using the HP Microserver I have a low LAN transfer rate. The transfer rate is between 50-60 MB/s, no matter if I write or read to the NAS. If I use a large file (like an 2 GB Patch) the rate starts with 115 MB/s, drops to 80 MB/s after 3-4 seconds and will stabilize at 60 MB/s after a few more seconds. If I use a folder with a lot of small files, the rate is always between 50 and 60 MB/s. I use an Cat 5e Cable and an TP-Link Gigabit-Switch. Also the direct connection between the PC (with SSD-Drive) and the NAS isn't faster. I think in my Synology DS-211+ had have rates between 90-100 MB/s normally, no matter if I transfer one large file or a lot of small files. Any idea why the transfer rate is that low? I mean it's fast enough but based on the performance I except a higher transfer rate on LAN the the DS-211+. Thanks a lot, Moritz

Hallo, ich habe Interesse an der Xpenology-Thematik, nutze bisher jedoch eine DS-211 von Synology. Ich habe eine Frage um DVB-Link-Server auf dem HP Microserver Gen 8 mit einem GCeleron 1610T zu installieren. Um welche Version muss es sich beim DVB Link handeln? Die Version für x86 oder "Evansport"? Ich denke x86, odre? Auch wenn in dem Gen 8 ein 64-Bit Prozessor verbaut ist.
