  1. ./rploader.sh ext bromolow-7.0.1-42218 add *url* for 3615xs replace „bromolow-…“ With matching device Type and Version so you’re fine. Add *url* of your choice of Repo at Github, mostly recommended Pocopico‘s ones.
  2. Would be on Promox too, if it was so gentle as ESXi, but VMWare is much more easy to handle. This is also just the last bit on the way to get Vanilla feeling, as disk Mapping is IMHO too. Thanks for Replay!
  3. @haydibe @pocopico maybe someone else… Is there a known and working Version of open VM Tools for getting ESXi to work with at 7.0.1 DSM? Since there might be an major change und Package handling i read about. And the ones out there won’t work with click&install…
  4. @haydibe interesting, because I noticed mine sends messages, that Protocolls are above set threshold and gives me a warning. In System Log (GUI) is nothing to read about it.
  5. Wow cool way to get a bit less nervous in updating to the new Version… Since I took the even harder way: Backup, Install, destroy…try error repeat, learn…try succeed recopy, pray, resync data from cloud…pray again…reconfigure external disk to raid 1 instead of raid 0…cop again…stop praying. Sleep well…
  6. @NoFate check SataPortConfig and DiskIdxMap… Are you booting with SATA Shim? Chosen in the Picker…
  7. Use the Esxi internal converting Tool as mentioned here. Works good, Boot via BIOS Mode at SATA 0:0 @NoFate thy change Ethernet to non passthrough. Maybe create image ne with this setting. Then test. Mostly wrong driver, KP at early Boot.
  8. For information purpose and anybody that gives nights to solve the Puzzle: VMWare ESXi and TinyCore runs great if placed in the Hypervisor via SATA 0:0 Flawlessly. In my Case the Problem was the igbx Extension ( thanks @pocopico!) that gave a kernel Panic Imagine how long I’ve been looking at the Machine, the Drives, the NIC…even Cables… I don’t know how to remove an extension, since rploader.sh detects Hardware and places Extensions into the build. The trick was to boot only with minimum Hardware (VM) like VMNET3 NIC and TinyCore Volume, modify the Loader and…that solved my struggle. I can edit SataPortConfig and so on before Build, when I disconnect the passthrough devices…then build, shutdown and reboot with newly builded Settings. Great. Last step: Drive 1 is empty and my PortConfig seems to be complicated. I do have an 3rd controller besides my 2 HBA, but it won’t go to disk 17 behind the Port limit, even 13 (behind the physical attached Disks) doesn’t. Just cosmetics, it’s an Hot-Spare… Running now an I know how. Oh boy, these days were long an annoying. But informative! Thanks to all here, great to get this further, since @ThorGroup seems to be MIA and stay…
  9. Here´s the 7.0.1 lspci -nnq finally got it up again...dont ask me how...everything from scratch... ...this time intel driver wasn't added automaticly as before it went lspci -nnq 7.0.1.rtf grep grep sd.rtf
  10. There is none assigned. It ends with the Notification (Serial Output): fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed See attachment serial.rtf
  11. Yes, that helps. I think I got that. pocopico thanks for your Time and Help. I am stuck. Can’t get find.synology.com show my rig anymore…no chance tried everything…
  12. So, got the Serial output of a fresh TinyCore Image, trying to boot up and install… …end of the Lines say: fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed …what to do now? What´s really confusing: i changed nothing to the Version, that booted up yesterday! @pocopico is there something new in the Package, that can cause my Problem?
  13. Jepp that’s my thoughts too. I read that the controller Syno Boots from comes first…
  14. I’m totally interested to get this solved and understand this. will report and come back with lspci -nnq output. EDIT: got it here on mobile, the one of the 6.2.3 install… @pocopico lspci -nnq 6.2.3.rtf
  15. I’m on ESXI 7 @Aigor
  16. Will try in the evening, thanks for quick reply. lspci -nnq will be posted asap I’m at the Server. my thoughts about SATAPortMap an DiskIdxMap is: vmware has a Controller (tinyCore is on) Two LSI HBA with each 8 Ports sum 12 Disks (8+4) so I got thee Controllers: one with 1 Port (VMware) and two with 8 Port (LSI): SataPortMap: 188 To count them up: DiskIdxMap: 100800 or am I wrong? For debugging: in VMWare I can add an SerialPort, read that this Ports give Information about the Boot Process. How can I monitor it? Sorry totally new in this.
  17. I have been happy to early… @pocopico Unfortunately my Install broke after playing with SATAportMap and DiskIdMap. Resetted all drives and was able to get to 6.2.3 again…as before. But installing 7.0.1 the same way isn’t possible, I can do what I want and tried everything to get my NAS recognized by find.syno… …but it is not seen. Compiled the TinyCore from scratch with ext add bromolow-7.0.1-42218 mpt2sas (link) and it’s been added. Hmmm…what to do now? the Build Command gets a lot of extensions by itself (mpt3sas for example)…can I exclude that? Maybe there’s a panic when mpt3 loads?
  18. Hi @Unregistrado These: "SataPortMap": "58", "DiskIdxMap": "0A00" Need to understand how this works, how to define Controller, Disk start and Count
  19. Damn! @pocopico you´re the Master!!! It worked and now I´m migrated to 7.0.1-2 without issues... GREAT! Thank you. LSI2008 HBA works with mpt2sas extension, X540-T2 OoB... VmWare ESXI 7.0: 3.x VM without a virtual NIC, passthrough Devices: 2x Falcon 2008 HBA, 1 Port of the X540 NIC Just TinyCore as converted Virtual Disk (Convert the vmdk from TinyCore with ESXI via SSH): klick Add RAM as you like, add CPUs at you like...boot in BIOS Mode the vmdk attached to SATA 0:0 voila! Anybody knows a working or how to get woking open-vm-tools? Hmmm. One of my Disks is missing...may SataPortMap??? Anybody can tell me how to do this? @haydibeeventually? TinyCore says: Machine is VIRTUAL Hypervisor=VMware Running on VMware, Possible working solution, SataPortMap=1 DiskIdxMap=00
  20. From my side, also a big thank you @pocopicofor the Help here. So I should test the new extension, did you mean that?
  21. @Dvalin21 @pocopico With mpt2SAS i wanted to install for testing purpose, attached may Disk on SATA (MoBo) an leaved the HBA´s without Disks but in the PCIe Slots. It installs, reboots...and wants to install again? Loop... Here the lspci -v Output from my working 6.2.3 Install.
  22. @Dvalin21 will attach file…
  23. Since my HBA won’t work with any Driver… Dies anybody know a working HBA (8 Port in IT Mode)??? And how to use it? For 7.0.1 and RedPill meant to use…
