  1. As title say after clean install on bare metal i find the server then get image build 3622xs+ with 7.2-42750 tried to install manualy and after the 10 mins it says somthing went wrong but no possibility to get it working again.
    Anyone can steer me in the right direction?
    Ow btw installed according to tutorials
    I tried with arcloader to but no luck,on the console it says complete different ip adres and when i scan my network it doens't pop up at al so th connection failf somehow.
    Please help to get it runnin again please

    Use direct boot option.

  5. @TyphoonNL I think you missed my point:

    There is a reason why it gives you a headache, it won't work, as the bootloader needs to know the vid/pid of the bootdevice (USB stick).
    If you clone your USB to a SATA connected device, your cloned vid/pid info will be wrong, and your system will not boot.

    So the answer to @Vernon question in post 1.  would be "Yes, but it depends on what DSM version and bootloader you are using".

    Loader is possible to burn on ssd

    On Proxmox you can boot from sata or media device like cd-rom, and Unraid with usb.

    Sadly I'm having no luck with this. Tried many times. Using finds.synology.com finds it and takes me through two pages of terms and then won't progress any further. I've done the C1E and direct boot things too. I'm at a loss! It's so frustrating as you are not the only one who has success. I would love to have a eurika moment!

    Direct boot option?

    Please set Arc - Advanced - Direct Boot - "true"

    If you have problems to start the DSM
    If your Hardware will not be found while boot to DSM
    If you have other problems while booting (especially on HP Clients and Microserver)

  7. I have taken your advice Peter and tried a fresh install using your v0.9.4.3-2 loader. I do all the steps, but afer reboot it gets as far as 'booting the kernal' and leaves a blinking curser. But nothing further happens and I can't find it on the network. I've tried a number of times, but the result is the same. Any ideas what may be happening?

    Cheers.

    Test it with ARC loader.

    I know that use this loader with any issue on DSM 7.2 with N54L.

  8. Follow with issues on DSM 7.2 and all loaders.

    I told with Chris because on VMWare I lost the connection after days or hours and I have to restart, it's like the VM will be freeze. I understand that it will be VMWARE's issue because occur with all loaders.

    I use VMware® Workstation 17 Pro. Is there any logs on Synology for know what si the issue?

  9. @Peter Suh Is there any issue with the loaders on VMware virtualizing DSM that DSM stops responding a few days later???

    Since update to DSM 7.2, I pause the virtualization on the night and then resume the next day, but several days after not get ip and need to restart.

    Also, I have many problems sometimes to detect ip with the E1000 or E1000e from DSM 7.2, there are many times that 10 minutes or more pass and does not take ip, even the first time you compile and restart to install DSM 7.2. Can it be for using UEFI bios in VMWARE?

    Thanks

    Hola,

    Has probado a cambiar el cable solo?

  11. TCRP difficult update procedure:

    * Manually install 7.2
    * reboot, wait for "synology is recoverable"
    * Shutdown
    * Rebuild usb key with TCRP 0.9.4.6 (I guess meaning of latest version)
    * ./rploader.sh update now
    * ./rploader.sh fullupgrade now
    * ./rploader.sh serialgen DS918+ realmac
    * ./rploader.sh identifyusb now
    * ./rploader.sh satamap now
    * ./rploader.sh backup
    * ./rploader.sh build ds918p-7.2.0-64561 withfriend
    * ./rploader.sh backup
    * exitcheck.sh reboot

    Based on Ozef update comments here:
    If someone has any comment, correction or whatever, please let me know.
    Three more procedures to go (or just one if the easy update procedure is trivial).
    Thanks

    TRCP has web version to compile loader. Only you need put the ip on the browser.

    Well.. I migrate one of my vm.. 7.2 It's working! But I'm not seeing any difference with 7.1 only "docker" it's now container manager.. I don't consider a great upgrade at first look..

    What’s New DSM 7.2

    • Added support for WriteOnce shared folders. This feature is based on the Write Once, Read Many (WORM) technology and can be enabled to prevent files from being modified, deleted, or renamed for a specified period.
    • Added support for volume encryption. All volume encryption keys are stored in the Encryption Key Vault, which can be set up on a local Synology NAS or via KMIP on a remote Synology NAS.
    • Added more Synology NAS models to support M.2 NVMe SSD storage pools. (Additional info added for the new DSM 7.2-64216 Beta – this is the main difference between DSM 7.2-64216 Beta and DSM 7.2-64213 Beta).
    • Added more SSD cache group management options, including changing the RAID type and replacing a drive.
    • Added support for inline zero-block removal to increase the efficiency of data deduplication.
    • Adjusted how drive information is presented in Storage Manager. Users can now quickly check the condition of their drives by looking at the “Drive Status” field.
    • Users can now view the amount of used and free space for each storage pool and volume in Storage Manager.
    • Added a warning notification for when the available shared folder quota is low.
    • Supports deleting individual desktop notifications.
    • Supports sending DSM notifications via additional webhook providers, including LINE and Microsoft Teams.
    • Supports creating custom notification rules for system events, giving users greater control over what notifications to receive.
    • Supports exporting a list of users and of groups.
    • Added support for SAML to integrate DSM with external SSO servers.
    • Added the option to allow non-admin users to safely eject USB devices.
    • Users can now manually input the IP addresses or FQDNs of one or more domain controllers in the trusted domain. This allows Synology NAS to sync domain data directly with the specified domain controllers.
    • Users can now enable Synology’s email server to send DSM notifications directly to their Synology Account.

    I tried the script but the singe 2tb i have in my build didn't show. However using your "classic method" worked but I have only 1tb available. is that expected?

    Btw, should the last line be "mkfs.btrfs -f /dev/md3"?

    ok, copy other time with md3. Sorry.

    If you have more than 2 disks, for example 4 disks, need put md5.

    - ls /dev/nvme*
    - fdisk -l /dev/nvme0n1
    - synopartition --part /dev/nvme0n1 12
    - cat /proc/mdstat
    - mdadm --create /dev/md3 --level=1 --raid-devices=1 --force /dev/nvme0n1p3
    - mkfs.btrfs -f /dev/md3

    With your 2TB nvme, show fdisk -l /dev/nvme0n1 the correct size available? If not, put your correct nvme that show you ls /dev/nvme*

    Thanks, I'll try Arc loader, I don't want to use linux, windows or vmware so I don't waste resources.

    When you NUC or machine has a lot of resources, it is better.

    DSM can you take like docker with Unraid, for example. And the rest of resources with other Virtual Machines.

    On baremetal, I don´t know if nvme is possible, only know that there are some scripts or addon with Arc, and you can test it.
