Can't install DSM 7 - Some issue with GRUB

Freelosof

Question

Hi all. I've tried to follow tutorial and it seem everything was fine until first reboot with command exitcheck.sh reboot.

After reboot I saw black screen with this text:

IMG_4444.thumb.jpg.6836e155a4d18831d7ba80717fc3b84b.jpg

error: symbol 'grub_disk_native_sectors' not found.

Entering resque mode...

grub resque> _

I can't do anything so I had to flash TCRP again and rebuild DSM again. I've tried 3622xs+ this time but I've got the same error.

Than I tried to check bios boot options and after switching boot priority from USB KEY: MYFLASHDRIVE to UEFI: MYFLASHDRIVE I was able to load into TCRP linux UI again with more boot options

IMG_4445.thumb.jpg.4cc8b7d2ffea350d8ea726c9ac623702.jpg

I tried to choose RedPill DS918+ 7.1.1-42962 (USB, Verbose) but after waiting about 20 minutes still can't see new Synology device with Synology Assistant.

Also I noticed one more screen with errors right before TCRP boot options screen above.

Here it is:

Does somebody could help me?

Hello,

You should consider @Peter Suh's M-shell loader :

https://github.com/PeterSuh-Q3/tinycore-redpill/

Dedicated thread is here :

Is your motherboard UEFI compatible ?

Can you post the specs of your hardware? I had that issues when I used older hardware with the wrong img for my motherboard:

tinycore-redpill-uefi.v0.10.0.0.img.gz - for UEFI boot

tinycore-redpill.v0.10.0.0.img.gz - Legacy/BIOS boot

tinycore-redpill.v0.10.0.0.vmdk.gz - Virtual machine

Tried with Legacy/BIOS, it seems boot from this version is OK, but stuck with first DSM boot. Can't find my platform with Synology Assistant. Also my router can't detect any network activity from NAS, new IP's or something like that.
