GeriHDHUN Posted January 12, 2022 #1 Posted January 12, 2022 Hello! I want to update my nas with manual update from DSM 5.2-5644 to DSM 7.0.1-42218 it's possible without data loss or reinstall? Thanks! Quote
gadreel Posted January 12, 2022 #2 Posted January 12, 2022 Hi! Before upgrading to 7.0.1 you need to take into consideration the following: 1) Is your hardware compatible for DSM 6 and DSM 7? For DSM6 you can find more information here 2) Based on your shared screenshot, it seems that you have to first install Jun's loaders for DSM 6.X.X and then Red Pill to jump to DSM 7.0.X 3) I do not see a reason for the migration not to work...but to be safe make sure you have backups no matter what the forum says. My bad, made a mistake from my end. DS3615XS according to @flyride table is compatible with any processor... DS918+ requires Haswell or above. Also looking at Pocopico's RedPill TinyCore loader there is an option for DS3615XS so I guess is compatible for DSM7...again backup everything. Quote
