QNAP auf eigener Hardware

gleiches spielchen auch mit meiner PCIe NVMe SSD (welche in einem billigen China Adapter sitzt).

 

hier die Erweiterung mit den PCIe...die NVMe wird als Drive erkannt und kann für Volumes verwendet werden.

was ich noch nicht geschafft habe, ist die DD Karte für meine VM sichtbar zu machen.....ich werde dann mal die PCIe Steckplätze tauschen..und weiterschauen...

 

ach ja....Bootup Time des Systems ca. 15 Min, bis WebGUI accessible...

Update ...... nach weiteren Tests wird die NVMe PCIe aktuell nur als Cache erkannt.....ich schau Mal, dass ich ne QM2 Karte bekommen...dann geht es weiter...

 

Leider habe ich es nicht geschafft die DD Cine V6 im Qnap als PCIe Gerät (lspci unter qnap ist ja grausig) zu sehen....kann Sie daher auch nicht an die VM (Win Server 2021) durchreichen...suche jetzt DVB-S2(x) Dual USB Tuner, die sollte ich ja durchreichen können...

Ja....habe mir gestern Nacht bei Amazon ne QNAP QM2-4P-384 relativ günstig geschossen....werde es dann am Di/Mi testen...

ok..ich kann bestätigen...mit den QNAP QM2 Karten funktionieren NVMe auch als Volume..^^

(hatte das Glück und den als WHD bei Amazon für unter 150€ bekommen)

 

habe erst mal eine 1TB 970 Evo Plus als ein Volume eingebunden, die 2 TB Evo Plus kommt morgen..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ich hab schlussendlich die Karte im unteren PCIe3x8 Slot verbaut uns so den PCIe3x16 für GraKa frei (die könnte ich ggfls. in VMs durchreichen)...

DD Cine V6 SAT Karten ließen sich leider nicht durchreichen, so dass ich hier auf SAT>USB Boxen von Sundtek ausgewichen bin, da USB problemlos durchreichbar ist.

Ich hatt als Basisvolume 2x Intenso 256GB m.2 SATA SSDs im RAID 1 genommen (da hier alle Docker Container, APPs und VMs liegen, leider ist die eine heute ausgestiegen. Werde die jetzt gegen WD RED m.2 SATA SSDs austauschen, bekommt Amazon halt den Intenso Schrott zurück...

Ansonsten kann ich ganz zufrieden sein, der SAS HBA funktioniert ( 18TB HDD wurde erkannt, wird aber erst später, wenn ich fertig bin, eingeschoben) , die m.2 SATA Anschlüssen onBoard funktionieren, PCIe Slots funktionieren beide, USB funktioniert, RAM wird korrekt erkannt und angezeigt, CPU wird korrekt erkannt und angezeigt...einzig die Startzeit von ca. 15Minuten ist etwas lang, aber dieses System soll permanent laufen...

Was hast Du bei dem LSI SAS für eine Config? Ein RAID oder Einzelplatten? Letztes konnte ich bei meinem SAS3108 gar nicht wählen (oder ich war zu blind dafür).

Bei mir werden die Platten am SAS nicht erkannt. Es kann aber auch daran liegen das in der Backplane ein Expander sitzt.

Von daher würde mich Deine Config im Controller sehr interessieren...

wie ich schon schrieb, war mein HBA zuerst im IR Mode (Raid) geflasht....habe Ihn dann in den IT Mode (stink normaler HBA) geflasht ...somit sind die Platten ganz normal einzeln ansprechbar..die backplane sollte hier eigentlich egal sein...ich habe auch Systeme mit Backplane...und jetzt habe ich auch eine mini-Backplane drin

 

Ich weiss, dass bei gebrauchten HBAs (HP, Dell,...wie sie alle heißen, aber im original LSI sind) gerne die IR Firmware drauf ist....bei Tante Google findet man viel dazu

at First create the Boot Stick with the Image Herr in this Forum, then start from it, Switch into tinycore Linux, Check the commands to read out the correct values and then modify the model.conf you created by the script......

 

The most hard part is to correct read and modify the values...

@snoopy78Danke für die Infos. Mit dem SAS3108 schein es nicht ganz so einfach zu sein. Er lässt sich wohl nicht mit einer IT-Firmware flashen (sagen die Freaks ).

Dafür hat er einen "Personality Mode" mit/ohne JBOD dessen Funktion ich noch nicht voll verstanden habe. Aber in allen Konstellationen sagt my_create_qnap_boot bisher das es keinen Disk-Controller findet. Und auch mit den passenden Einträgen bei den System Disks geht nichts.

 

Ich teste weiter...

der HBA sollte eigentlich immer im TINYCORE erkannt werden, solange er mpt3sas verwendet.

 

Naja..JBOD klingt doch schon Mal richtig....hier ist es Just a Bunch Of Disks..also genau das, was du suchst...

 

Ich habe gestern Nacht aber noch ein anderes Verhalten mit den SAS HBA  gesehen, was ich später/die Tage verifizieren will....

So wie es aktuell aussieht erkennt das System physisch SSDs an weitern Ports, aber keine HDDs....auf werden erkannte SSD/HDD nicht zwingend in der WebGUI angezeigt...

soo...habe jetzt ein interessantes Verhalten gefunden....

 

habe einen 8 Port HBA...und in meiner Model.conf auch die Zuordnung richtig drin....

 

wenn ich SSD/HDD einstecke, erkennt er jedoch nicht an allen Ports etwas in der WEBGUI....auf der CLI im Kernellog und per fdisk -l jedoch schon....

 

naja...ich kann noch 3 normale SSD/HDD einstecken + 2 NVMe....sollte also reichen..;)

 

 

Wenn jemand einen EASY MOUSE card reader verwenden will..!! ACHTUNG !! im Normalzustand rebooted die Qnap, sobald der eingesteckt wird. (einfach mal danach bei goggle suchen, ist nen bekanntes verhalten..)

=> ich habe das bei mir so gelöst, dass ich bei der ERSTELLUNG des Boot-Images (also da, wo ich auch die model.conf erstelle/bearbeite) in der "create_udev_rule.sh" (glaube unter /etc/init.d/ ) den YEC Eintrag gelöscht habe.

Dann kann ich die EasyMouse in Betrieb ohne Probleme einstecken, nur beim Booten sollte die nicht drin sein, da es sonst wieder als USV (status abnormal) erkannt wird und das System herunterfährt.

thank you & yes, since we're here in a forum, it would be helpfull to have at least some basic information of how to proceed.....i currently also try to read the orignal post in here chinese forum but can't it's a bit hard to read sometimes..;)

try QTS and no QTS Hero....you need a license for QTS Hero...;) as it's written in your error message...

check the posts above, there are plenty of different units stated...

Hello, as a barematel, I had the same problem when trying to install Microserver Gen10 Plus. I think I need to make some edits in the model.conf file, I'm trying to understand it now. And i'm not a programmer too

You can Register there....i dir it too..you need qq and wechat for that.....for me the issue ist currently i need a baidou acc for downloading the File, since i can't Register @baidou...i'll try these days some more....but it Looks so gar interesting...was more Options to do...

Yes, you must so some Changes at baremetal....i think i made a quick summarization in one of my entries....

 

 

 

 

I'm currently running an ASRock D1542U Mobo with 2* m.2 mSATA + 5 (out of 8, since WebGUI won't display these, even they are detected in console ) LSI 9300 das hba HDD/SSD + 2* (out off 4) via QM2 4 Port m.2 nvme PCIe Card.

 

So in total 

2*500GB WD Red m.2 SATA SSD in Raid1 1(mirror) as Volume for all Apps, Docker, VM's and Importamt data (8 Docker + 4 VMs)

1*1TB Samsung 970Evo Plus as Volume 

1*2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus as Volume 

1* 4TB WD Red Pro HDD for IPTV recording aß Volume

1* 18TB Thosiba Enterprise HDD as Volume

 

and for Testing currently 1* 4TB Seagate (Home User) HDD for QVR as recording Volume for CCTVs 

 

I've also modified my Initial Scripts as mentioned earlier to prevent a qnap Bug/behavior...

 

Now i only wait for my Sundtek DVB-S2X to USB (2* sag) Box from Taiwan, then my Windows Server DVBViewer for Home IPTV can ein virtualized...

 

Power consumption ist around 100W with Spikes to 150W unser load..

 

The downside ist, that the Boot time ist ~ 15-20minutes...but i don't Boot this device..
