  1. Just to confirm... after 2 long days of trying to make it happen, over the version v9.3 with the sata option: it can detect an Lsi hba, but never give any ip. No matter how many or mac and so. I try the friend option, while it was not clear what this bring.. and still no ip. I did try over the arpl, but find out some bug still present and disk count is wrong.

But now i get a fully working 42692u2 via an install of tcrp v9.2.8. All detected directly, same process, same config as all others try. No ip is show at the console, but check the router dhcp and you get one. Then dsm install. still put on sata1:0 as independant persist thick.
For the update, that was not clear: Go on the gui : manual install and : that<s it! Walk away as soon you click the yes button. And when your back 5min after : all is done. No need to quickly go to update a loader or put any string or run strange script m my myss ... the <tinycore redpill friend> as the 4th option do care of all and greatly is auto select and boot direct to it.

i don't know the mean of : zimage upgrade detected mean, while doing the reboot when updating. Was it the loader now on version 9.3 or still in 9.2.8 ?

  2. Hi After spending the day trying to update tcrp and fail, i step on arpl.1.0-b6 and it was a breeze. Big thumb up. But i do have great issues to set the drive... The cmdline that show the sata drive : do detect/show a 60 drive total ? And my raid card it mode LSI9200 is not present/detected
When log in dsm just half (4) of the 8 drive do show at position 65-66-67-68. If log in ssh i do see the other ssd present, but not detected by dsm.
In manual config i did try :
      maxdisks set at 12
      SataPortMap: "138"      (try also 228  or 28 )
      DiskIdxMap: "100004"   ( or 1000  or 1B00 )

With those setting or without SataPortMap/DiskIdxMap .. i got the same thing.

System is Esxi6.7 and when install Sata0:0 =arpl , Sata1:0 =hdd100gb . The sata1 was not seen anywhere and i have to add the hdd as position Sata0:1 to be able to install dsm.
In tcrp v8.. i got all the hdd detected and present in proper slot with only:
     SataPortMap: "138" / DiskIdxMap: "100004" .
So how to limit the max drive ? or map..   thanks

  3.  Precision, redo over a diff version and it look to hang at 43% item objects 908/2066 . with 36.27mb received. It was the same item this weekend. But while the script don<t do a <skip object> it hang and cancel the rest. With a mention of reused existing.. but not updated object. @pocopico is that could cause a partial update as some function not matching or so .. ?

  4. Just to confirm, while doing a v7.1u1 update to u3 : i got an error while the postupdate try to download something at about 38%.. it hang.. like an ssl error or so. But after the reboot, it do show as being running U3. So was it properly apply or something is missing.

Do you want to use this for the loader ? [yY/nN] :

  5. @phone guy@SebastianC@rojoone2 While the info you seak are within the previous 163 page, checking it can be the best way, but time to read. If you want to discuss another loader or another version : just create a different topic. This topic is only for the great work of Pocopico.

@Bose321 as for the acpi, it do work fine, but if you add with the wrong url, that can give a not working condition. Also, it depend on the version of prox you use. best : install prox 7.1 don<t do any update, install tc with acpi and other and it work. No need of dodo not updated file.

  6. for esxi is all the same and as other tuto you can check as well. tinytc on sata0 and sata1:0+ for new vm disk dsm install of proper size. No scsi and scsi don't give anything for the dsm install , you can put it after and add virtual disk is you want.

  7. At mid may, the satamap detect did detect all hdd connected directly to the lsi. Now this has been removed and it give the problem you got. i do put the dsm install on the sata1:0 and told 3hdd for the satamap. then install dsm pat.  and at reboot, go change the grub and add 8 at the end of satamap. i have 3hdd for scratch or virtual other and 4 to 12 for the one on the lsi.  so : 138 and diskid 100003

  8. @noxiosIt's a matter of extension. i have seen few post about that on gen8 and were working fine. look over github or dig among the thread (156page currently).  2 months ago i had a gen8 and all were detected when i install just to test out. But you better to put an lsi card as the hdd3-4 are not sata3.

  9. Quite a lot have change in 3 week. On the 14 may i can install redpill in esxi with Pcie LSI card. At the:  sudo ./rploader.sh satamap now   it was asking how many ports should be mapped, on the vmware Sata ctrl. with 1 drive connected (detected)
Then it continue directly the second question: how many ports should be mapped for this controller. : As being the LSI ctrl.

Now as on the 17jun and 18, the instal command don't ask this anymore for the LSI. By chance i screengrab the setting. As the only way is to enter this manually. to put : SataPortMap=148  DiskIdxMap=100004.

With the Lsi card, it cannot get a proper dhcp ip when the dsm first boot. Never found in the synoAssistant.

But when install with only sata 0 : redpill , sata 1:0 a new hdd and nothing else. it can install.

Then i try to edit file in /proc/cmdline  to mod the sataportmap and Disklxdxmap. And at boot i punch 'e' and also add there. And the lsi is show.

Don't know if it survive multiple reboot or a cold shutdown.

Also, for the update, by doing it give lot of error:

    sudo ./rploader.sh update
    sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661

    i got that :

And in the folder i don't have the file listed here as :  exitcheck.sh
i simply reboot to normal mode and in dsm it show 7.1u2.  Is the ext driver install with 7.1u1 are still present, or the cleanup made in the first place to remove all ?

  10. PRox is quite easy to install: do : vm i440fx/seabios/2cor-4g/Virtioscsi default/ Sata0:22g writeback-discard/sata1: bootloaderpil.46 .   Add serial port, remove cdrom, set only sata1 as boot.  Boot.  No cli addition to the vm, no manual entry.

this current guide is base on old jun method and v9s is not maintained as it was only for a specific request.

install manual, m script just don't get it and add extra step with error all time.

     with:   update now/fullupgrade now/serialgen xxxxx/identifyusb now/satamap now/ install ext need : https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/main/redpill-acpid/  / build / sudo rm -rf /home/tc/custom-module / reboot :  webpage of syno and dsm install. enjoy.

  11. Question about network :   with an ethernet card passthroug to a vm in esxi.. i think i'm missing something. While i did install the proper driver during the build, like for a 3622 and 3617. The card do not show up in the info center and neither in the network interface.
Do i have to add an extra line in the user_config.json as :  for the 3617 having max 4mac, putting "mac5": "001xxrandom",  will automaticaly map the 10g card to the mac5 ?

i try this just by booting and setting with ,e, option, but it don't show up.

A previous test with an usbnic show with the above that can work.. but with an network card .. not sure here.

Also Thanks for all great packages !

  13. On the usb with driver r8152 : I have both usb nic r8153 gig and r8156 2.5g usb nic  and can pass to a vm in Proxmox. I try over a ds3622 build, and ds920 but just the 2.5 are detected/working. Look the new driver as posted from @Peter Suh might have drop the rtl8153 giga nic. I also try to build with the mac2 being set at the one of the usbnic... but still the same. Any position of the mac for the 2.5g rtl8156 do work, but if set alone or so, the giga don't.    dfg

For the whole EXT, i confirm these are present in the custom.gz :
    jumkey.acpid2 / poco: r8125 r8152 vmxnet3 /redpill-bootwait/redpill-dtb/redpill-misc
    thethorgroup.virtio

     and confirming before the build: into tcbootloader;
    ll ./redpill-load/c*/e*
    REALLY_README.txt / jumkey.acpid2/ pocopico.r8125/ pocopico.r8152/pocopico.vmxnet3/

If only the rtl8153 set at mac7, over a 3622 , in infocenter it show the device USB 10/100/1000 LAN - TP-Link / but not in the network pane. Neither in the synoAssistant. While the 2.5g is detected as soon as the first boot before any pat install.

Or perhaps just having a seperate driver for just the 2.5 label as r8156 could be an option to get back the gig rtl8153
