  1. At mid may, the satamap detect did detect all hdd connected directly to the lsi. Now this has been removed and it give the problem you got. i do put the dsm install on the sata1:0 and told 3hdd for the satamap. then install dsm pat. and at reboot, go change the grub and add 8 at the end of satamap. i have 3hdd for scratch or virtual other and 4 to 12 for the one on the lsi. so : 138 and diskid 100003
  2. @noxiosIt's a matter of extension. i have seen few post about that on gen8 and were working fine. look over github or dig among the thread (156page currently). 2 months ago i had a gen8 and all were detected when i install just to test out. But you better to put an lsi card as the hdd3-4 are not sata3.
  3. here is Lsi port, detected and ask to be add in the configuration. That was working fine. Current version don't detect Lsi2008 card anymore and if add at the deploy, no dhcp get detected.
  4. Quite a lot have change in 3 week. On the 14 may i can install redpill in esxi with Pcie LSI card. At the: sudo ./rploader.sh satamap now it was asking how many ports should be mapped, on the vmware Sata ctrl. with 1 drive connected (detected) Then it continue directly the second question: how many ports should be mapped for this controller. : As being the LSI ctrl. Now as on the 17jun and 18, the instal command don't ask this anymore for the LSI. By chance i screengrab the setting. As the only way is to enter this manually. to put : SataPortMap=148 DiskIdxMap=100004. With the Lsi card, it cannot get a proper dhcp ip when the dsm first boot. Never found in the synoAssistant. But when install with only sata 0 : redpill , sata 1:0 a new hdd and nothing else. it can install. Then i try to edit file in /proc/cmdline to mod the sataportmap and Disklxdxmap. And at boot i punch 'e' and also add there. And the lsi is show. Don't know if it survive multiple reboot or a cold shutdown. Also, for the update, by doing it give lot of error: sudo ./rploader.sh update sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 i got that : remote: Total 1253 (delta 302), reused 284 (delta 283), pack-reused 928 Receiving objects: 100% (1253/1253), 469.84 KiB | 692.00 KiB/s, done. [yY/nN] : y Extracting redpill ramdisk And in the folder i don't have the file listed here as : exitcheck.sh i simply reboot to normal mode and in dsm it show 7.1u2. Is the ext driver install with 7.1u1 are still present, or the cleanup made in the first place to remove all ?
  5. Oh, so if adding the card to the vm don't get the dsm directly catch and activate the card, then the extra driver is not properly activated.. or working ? Like : sudo ./rploader.sh ext broadwell-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/tn40xx/rpext-index.json
  6. About the nic card , like the mellanox you quote, was it you pass it and it appear directly as an extra nic ? Like on ds918 we put 2 nic as per the system, then adding the pci nic will give a 3 nic in 'autodetect' mode .. Or it should be done manually or set the mac id somewhere.. ? thanks and indeed good guide
  7. yep, unzip the loader, put on temp folder and then 'attach' to your vm with the command .. qmimport 105 folder/temp/zyx/loaderxxx.img -as vm105 perhaps a missing arguments there.. just by memory here.
  8. PRox is quite easy to install: do : vm i440fx/seabios/2cor-4g/Virtioscsi default/ Sata0:22g writeback-discard/sata1: bootloaderpil.46 . Add serial port, remove cdrom, set only sata1 as boot. Boot. No cli addition to the vm, no manual entry. this current guide is base on old jun method and v9s is not maintained as it was only for a specific request. install manual, m script just don't get it and add extra step with error all time. with: update now/fullupgrade now/serialgen xxxxx/identifyusb now/satamap now/ install ext need : https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/main/redpill-acpid/ / build / sudo rm -rf /home/tc/custom-module / reboot : webpage of syno and dsm install. enjoy.
  9. Question about network : with an ethernet card passthroug to a vm in esxi.. i think i'm missing something. While i did install the proper driver during the build, like for a 3622 and 3617. The card do not show up in the info center and neither in the network interface. Do i have to add an extra line in the user_config.json as : for the 3617 having max 4mac, putting "mac5": "001xxrandom", will automaticaly map the 10g card to the mac5 ? i try this just by booting and setting with ,e, option, but it don't show up. A previous test with an usbnic show with the above that can work.. but with an network card .. not sure here. Also Thanks for all great packages !
  10. @howudodat for prox : do this in the Gui. upload the .img into vz/dump. vm i440fx/seabios/2cor-4g/Virtioscsi default/ Sata0:22g min /sata1: bootloaderpil.46 sata 1 is assign via 1 cli cmd. : qimport vmid ...bootloaderpill.img nothing usb. no touch to args.

  12. On the usb with driver r8152 : I have both usb nic r8153 gig and r8156 2.5g usb nic and can pass to a vm in Proxmox. I try over a ds3622 build, and ds920 but just the 2.5 are detected/working. Look the new driver as posted from @Peter Suh might have drop the rtl8153 giga nic. I also try to build with the mac2 being set at the one of the usbnic... but still the same. Any position of the mac for the 2.5g rtl8156 do work, but if set alone or so, the giga don't. dfg For the whole EXT, i confirm these are present in the custom.gz : jumkey.acpid2 / poco: r8125 r8152 vmxnet3 /redpill-bootwait/redpill-dtb/redpill-misc thethorgroup.virtio and confirming before the build: into tcbootloader; ll ./redpill-load/c*/e* REALLY_README.txt / jumkey.acpid2/ pocopico.r8125/ pocopico.r8152/pocopico.vmxnet3/ If only the rtl8153 set at mac7, over a 3622 , in infocenter it show the device USB 10/100/1000 LAN - TP-Link / but not in the network pane. Neither in the synoAssistant. While the 2.5g is detected as soon as the first boot before any pat install. lsusb |__usb1 1d6b:0002:0404 09 2.00 480MBit/s 0mA 1IF (Linux 4.4.180+ xhci-hcd xHCI Host Controller 0000:01:1b.0) hub |__usb2 1d6b:0003:0404 09 3.00 5000MBit/s 0mA 1IF (Linux 4.4.180+ xhci-hcd xHCI Host Controller 0000:01:1b.0) hub |__2-2 2357:0601:3000 00 3.00 5000MBit/s 0IFs (TP-LINK USB 10/100/1000 LAN 000001000000) |__usb3 1d6b:0001:0404 09 1.10 12MBit/s 0mA 1IF (uhci_hcd 0000:00:01.2) hub |__3-1 0627:0001:0000 00 2.00 12MBit/s 100mA 1IF (QEMU QEMU USB Tablet 28754-0000:00:01.2-1 lspci -tvnnq -+-[0001:0c]---00.0 Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9235 PCIe 2.0 x2 4-port SATA 6 Gb/s Controller [1b4b:9235] +-[0001:09]---00.0 Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9235 PCIe 2.0 x2 4-port SATA 6 Gb/s Controller [1b4b:9235] \-[0000:00]-+-00.0 Intel Corporation 440FX - 82441FX PMC [Natoma] [8086:1237] +-01.0 Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 ISA [Natoma/Triton II] [8086:7000] +-01.1 Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 IDE [Natoma/Triton II] [8086:7010] +-01.2 Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 USB [Natoma/Triton II] [8086:7020] +-01.3 Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI [8086:7113] +-02.0 Device [1234:1111] +-03.0 Red Hat, Inc. 13. @phone guy you can add a bunch of vm hdd of like 9g and you will get the setting show up somehow. i see it earlier over a ds920 with just 3 random hdd.
  14. Hi So @Aigor did you manage to get a working .spk openvmtool for the 3622 in dsm7/7.1 ? It can be quite the best as without auto shutdown.. the usage is quite limited.
  15. I try for about 3days to get a working install and finally get it done in manual with the post of today from poco, but while 3622 do work good, just not the 918. But on the sataMapping, i'm quite not sure how the previous vm was done 2 post above from Peter. I understand in proxmox if you boot via .img assign as usb boot, it will not show up in the listing.. while booting and <assigning> the bootloader to the vm it show up in the hdd position. But how to get a proper listing.. or is it; we don't care about the position of the drive ? i do have the LSA2008 not yet install, so need to confirm first the lineup of position as i will add like 2 virtual hdd. I got a readyload vm backup v7 42218 and there is no "SataPortMap" and neither "DiskIdxMap". Only the proper pid 0-vid 0x46f4 for proxmox, (written in one of the page in the redpill-loader github.) And this over a Proxmox having: sata0 as bootloader and sata1 as dsmlocalhdd. When i do a 3622xsp and set "SasIdxMap": "0", / "SataPortMap": "1", / "DiskIdxMap": "0" i can have half the hdd location for sata and scsi : if hdd add in mode Virtio hdd = not detected Scsi0 = show in position #8 Scsi1 = in posi #9 (with writeback-discard. option ssd not put) if scsi1 trsf in sata1 = show in posi #3 newhd in sata3 = show in posi#5 When set another (ds36)3622xsp vm with user_config set "SataPortMap=9", "DiskIdxMap=0" * vm: q35/seabios/virtioscsi ctrl/ sata0 = dsmlocal20g / sata1= redpillBootloader i got the sata0 in position #10. So i add another hdd as sata3 : it outside of the range as being as #13. Adding an hdd as Virtio block1 : it is not detected. Adding an hdd as Scsi1 = it show as posi #16 *also with option satamap at 9 i cannot install dsm, reboot with option -e , edit to put 1 instead; then dsm install is possible. On the build i did used EXT from pocopico: acpid and virtio, but acpid don't work to turn off the vm. when build it show as downloading from Jumkey github.. perhaps it's not updated or so. sudo ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/redpill-load/develop/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json sudo ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/redpill-load/master/redpill-virtio/rpext-index.json i also read about v9s.. but never find out what is it.. is this a bundle of virtio and acpid especially for proxmox ? As mention briefly at page 124.. of the loader. Thanks in advance
