    DSM 6.2 on an Acer H340

    Got new experience….

    Acer H340 boots also from GPT BootLoaders (104b) but can't finally not install DSM 6.2.2      :-(
    I tried a lot but ever ended at Error 13 (Disc Image possibly corrupted) ...

    I checked VID/PID many times ..
    used different USB Sticks..
    but Nothing works..

     

    Need any hints of what is going wrong !!!

    i'm not sure About the DS918+ Serial … Tried it with that inside the Loader and also with a Serial found anywhere in the Internet...
    but also failed…

    pls give me a hint or a working Loader ?

    Hi, i need some help..
    Since days i try to install DSM 6.2.x on a Acer H340

    I used the Image of a 102b MBR Loader. mounted it in OSF Mount and replaced the files with the one from an DS918+ 1-04b Image.

    changed the values in grub.cfg to fit to my USB Stick. 
    first i changed the Serail to one i found …..

    and second left it unchanged…

    My Acer H340 boots up and i can find it through Synology Assistant and upload (or download) the DSM file.. (tried different)

     

    but at approx 57% the Installation (Migration) stops and the famous Error 13 come up!.

    any hints for that? 
    i tried several sticks, checked the VID and PID many times

    cleared all the drives in the box etc. etc.

     

    any suggestions ?

    PS: another H340 Box works like a charm with DSM 6.1.7, but i wanted to have 6.2.x..

    For those who need a MBR Bootloader for DSM 6.2 i've uploaded it here, if someone will give them a Chance...

    i've successfully installed this on an Supermicro X7DBP-i with Intel Blackford 5000P Chipset.

    It is a loader for the DSM6.2-23739.pat and can be directly upgraded to 6.2.2-24922 Update 2..

    GOT IT !!!...

    I've succesfully installed DSM 6.2.2-24922 update 2 to my Supermicro Server !!!..

     

    After a lot of fails with installing for 916+ or 918+ i tried the DS3615xs Version

    Took the 1.02 MBR Loader of Genesys and replaced the files with thes from 1.03b Loader…
    and it worked !

    i'am happy

    That's absolutly right... 

    Your topic helped me absolutly and my H340 (Got two of them.. One fore spare! ) is runnig since there without any Problem!

    And faster and with more Tasks as my Buffalo NAS'es before.. 

    Thank's a lot.... 

     

    One Thing i try now, is to Upgrade to DSM 6.2.x.. 

    But i can't find any images with MBR with the approbiate Files... 

    But i continue trying and searching..

    Let Xpenology find that..
    At the Control Panel under "Updates and Backup"

    check just the Point "important Updates" and let it find !...

     

    Someone dealed with implement the LED-Drivers.. (me too)
    but without sucess …

    and for my Point of view this is not really important...

    as i know updating on a H340 works just to DSM 6.1.7-15284 Update 3...

     

    and there is no solution for the HDD-LEDs and the blinking I-LED..

    just one fix for the Powerbutton (to shutdown with the Powerbutton)

    as from my first experiences, the H340 sometimes was not accesable after first reboot after install...
    i found that an inserted extra Graphic Card was disturbing and so in installed just with an VGA-Cable..

    But runs like a charm.....

    after trying a lot, (also this https://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/hybrid.html)  i found a "phenomen" with my Bootsticks...

    also GPT formated USB-Drives are booting, but just to the point, where after the bootmenu is displayed, the "info.txt. is shown and then it stopped booting

    no Kernel booting message ….
     

    now i'm not shure if my Hardware supports booting from GPT formatted drives….

     

    the search goes on..

     

    any hints ? some suggestions ?

    Already tried! 

    But most of this tries ended in stop booting After "Info.txt" is shown on the screen... 

    Don't know whats wrong... 

    Also did not get access to the serial console...

    Hi Guys,
    is there any Chance to get a MBR-Version of the 918+ Loader V1.04..

    i tried so much to convert these Loaders (also 1.03b) but without success..

    Cause my Supermicro X7DBP-i won't boot from GPT..

    or any hints would be also helpful..

    next Question :

    on my Acer H340 with XPenology works well, but the Warning Sign (Explanation Mark) is blinking all the time..

    i can't see any Errors at the Dashboard...

    any Ideas ??

    it doesn't really matters me, but without it would be fine… (more fine..)

    I am pretty sure that these are the only solutions which would help without reinstalling …

    i think reinstalling wouldn't work if you can't find your Box through Synology Assistant or find.synology.com...

    and if so.. reconfigure it...
