I cannot see those 2 files either. But still upgraded well.
Just ran 2 commands, and that's it.

Can you please show us how to install nanoboot 5.0 on Hyper-V Server 2012 R2?
Thank you.

Oh my, 200 views now but only 1 answer.
I've never touched ESXi before, just curious because ppl talking about ESXi a lot and dunno its benefits.
Can I setup ESXi machine and install a HTPC and a nas nanobooth on it? Possible?
-
A noob question.
What is difference between installing XPEnology on USB stick and on ESXi 5.5 machine? Any benefits of each?
Thank you so much for the inputs.
-
I have the same question.
Thank you.

A quick question.
Can I update my NAS to Update2 Heartbleed fix directly from beta3 insteal of beta7?
Thanks.
-
Still waiting Beta 8. It takes too long now...
-
Any suggestions?
IMO, try not to use ESXi.

After reading all 8 pages of "Installing XPEnology in VirtualBox", I have decided NOT to go with it. A lot of trouble.
Sorry guys...

Plucked up the courage, and followed the Cyanlabs guide here http://cyanlabs.co.uk/news/install-xpen ... thout-esxi
Took me from Trantor 4.3 3810 Update 4, cleanly to 5.0 4458, without any trouble
Thanks.
You guys must be kidding..
Look at the picture below.
It clearly stated "all data on these hard disks will be removed".
With 16TB and no place to be backed up, if you were him, would you dare try?

You guys successfully updaded from DSM 4.3 or from DSM 5.1 update 1?
YES ...
YES what? DSM 4.3 or from DSM 5.1 update 1?
-
You guys successfully updaded from DSM 4.3 or from DSM 5.1 update 1?
Mine still sits on DSM 4.3.
Thanks.
-
Pump, I have the same question.
-
@Trantor : when will you release the beta 8 ?
I also have that same question, Trantor.
Thanks.

On behalf of all ordinary users, we thank you guys for all efforts you've done now and in the future. You definitely save us time, money, and even disappointments.
Much appreciate it.

My nas is working on mobo Asus H87I-Plus just fine. But as you know, setup of the "scheduled Power Off" is working but it NEVER works on "scheduled Power On" even the Nas is now working on its REAL mac address.
Can you guys please provide any possible/ potential solutions? Thank you.
I much appreciate it.

I created a topic for us to discuss about FAQ or Wiki for this forum 2 weeks ago viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2502
. But looks like I shot a arrow into the dark sky.

Calm down, guys. I think he's from Synology and tries to annoy us.
-
Hi, I have the same motherboard of you.
I had installed xpenology into virtualbox.
Do you have the SMART status working?
I have the same mobo, but don't use virtualbox.
I can confirm the SMART status working.

Been waiting Trantor's DSM 5 officially released.
-
Weird. With a big forum like this, I don't see any FAQ that's sticky.
More and more, many new commers join the forum and to prevent a same/ similar question posts and keeps asking, and to save time for a lot of people here why don't we have a FAQ sticked? Do we have a mod who can take care of this?
Thank you.

In fact, I have extra nics and spare dump giga switch, but I don't think it's a good idea to interconnect nas/ servers or whatever you call it. I acutally cannot set up network cables around my house like this, from 2nd floor to basement, from 1st floor to basement, ect.

Thank you very much for all you have replied. I found using a usb stick to boot my nas seems not so convenient.
Just pop-up an idea that I should install DSM direct ly to my hard drive and boot from it. Is that impossible? How and why?
Ocne again, thank you, budies.
Why must be ESXi for XPEnology?

Sorry, but I really dont know why a lot of people have been setting up ESXi 5.5 and installing xpenology on it. Why dont they setup a normal machine and boot from a usb stick instead that definitely saves them a lot of haedaches? Or they themselve want to prove they are IT poeple for nothing?
