I like to know if it was possible to have an alert when a power outage occured. Before the UPS will stop the Syno and when the power is restored.

I already tested a power outage, but the Synology does not send email. I believe that the modem/router was not ready and the Syno did not send the email. Is there possibility to configure send retry or a delay for some alert?

Not sure what you mean. From SDM 4.3 is user configurable to receive power issues alerts:

My email last time power was down:

    "Estimado usuario,

    Atentamente,

    Synology DiskStation"

    When power was back:

    "Estimado usuario,

El dispositivo UPS conectado a Qnojemm ha vuelto al modo AC.

    Atentamente,

    Synology DiskStation"

v1.1_v3.7z and v1.1_v4 are crashing when booting my N54L with APC Back-UPS RS 550GI or when plugging the UPS if the N54L is running yet  . All the xpenology prior versions worked like a charm.

My mistake is to only put the kernel in my betas and not the modules associate to it, so modules are not always compatible.

I will upload updated usb modules soon. Same thing for CIFS (mount point.)

Must investigate for iscsi as it's works in v1.0 on my test system.

    Hi Trantor,

Take you time! We're not in a rush.

Your work is very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

  3. Hello, I'm having an issue with the synoboot pre v1.1_v3, I got this message (after .pat installation) , and xpenology doesn't boot :

I found the source of this message in the code : https://github.com/andy928/xpenology/bl ... xit.c#L924 , maybe it can help...

It works very fine with the 'stable' synoboot, but PATA drivers for my MB are not included, and I have one IDE disk.

    My config :

    - MB : Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5

    - Controller card : SYBA Combo USB 3.0 + SATA III 6Gbps

    - 7 SATA disks (250 to 1TB) and 1 IDE disk (250 Go)

    Any idea ?

    btw, great job guys !

    Hi Danyz,

Your photo is small. Please, read my previous post. Do you have any UPS plugged to the NAS?

  4. Eduardo, thank you very match. i am testing this module now))

could you still compile usb cdc acm module ?

cdc-acm, usbserial and ftdio_sio modules are already included.

    Just insmod them. (insmod /lib/modules/cdc-acm)

    Compiled for nothing...

Up! Silly me! I wish I had been there (/lib/modules/)

    Kudos to Trantor!

  5. Hi Trantor, Thanks for the great work.

Please add usb cdc acm kernel module, this default module in linux kernel.

and please add support lcd4lixux(crosscompile this software http://ssl.bulix.org/projects/lcd4linux/) (usb2com and ftdi drivers).

    thanks.

Sure Trantor will do it. Meanwhile, if you can't wait, you could insmod these USB to serial modules.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ie5ptu7lwbld8lo/USB_to_serial_DSM_4.3_bromolow.tgz

I compiled them and work for me.

  6. You cannot use this, as S99ZZZ_Shutdown.sh is calling for a missing package!

Yes, you are right. I pasted the howto for helping but I forgot to mention it was in case 4.2. On 4.3 WOL is working on my N54L without modding anything. I always wake it up from the router and works like a charm. If you put your real MAC I can't imagine why it doesn't work on your boxes, guys.

Sorry for the confusion. I'll edit the post right now.

    Regards.

  7. Hello N54L users,

    just to make this clear:

I have WOL running but the ONLY thing I can use to wake it up is the Synology Assistant on a PC within the network or the iPhone app DS Finder to wake it through the internet. Nothing else works. No magicpackets are working. I had this problem with 4.2 as well. So if you changed anything in 4.2 and upgraded then please tell me what you did in 4.2. My router also has a WOL function but this also won't work.

    Thanks

Once more, WOL working on my N54L (DieHard bios). XPEnology 4.2 and 4.3 too. From router GUI (Tomato 1.28) I can wake the N54L flawlessly.

On 4.3 no need to mod anything. For me, working after the installation.

    Only on 4.2:

    http://nas1.cn/thread-64278-1-1.html

    1. modify the /etc/synoinfo.conf wol_enabled_options=“” and eth0_wol_options="" to "g"

    2. put the attached file to /usr/syno/etc/rc.d/ and give the file execuable permission。

    S99ZZZ_Shutdown.rar

(Edited to clarify 4.2 vs 4.3)

  8. Hello, I wonder if someone could help me get WOL working on my N54L?

    I'm using XPEnology DS3612xs DSM 4.2 build 3211++ (repack v1.2) by Trantor.

I'm using the modded bios by TheBay with WOL enabled.

I've done everything I can find on this forum but still not having any success.

Vendor file modified with my real MAC address

Grub.conf - commented chksum/vendor/hw_model, added mac1=real mac address as a parameter to kernel image

My mac address is showing as the real hardware one and is not changing so all seems well here.

Whenever I try to set WOL enabled under Hardware in DSM it always reports a fail.

I've also tried "ethtool -s eth0 wol g" from terminal but no good.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Mike.

    Hi Mike,

Almost the same configuration, and it's working here. I just followed http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=665&p=4491&hilit=wol+chinese#p3312

Whenever I try to set WOL enabled under Hardware in DSM it always reports a fail, but never mind. It works, anyway.

    Hope it helps.
