For me it's my admin created account. So bad to be stuck for a login
First, its better to use the extra in my sign, it's a clean one. (i can't edit my old post with the old extra, it work the same but there were some osx garbage inside)
Second, this extra basically just remove the Jun's i915 driver, this driver KP on some motherboard with integrated CPU. So wihtout the jun's driver DSM boot and after HW transcoding use the DSM driver and it work flawlessly for most of those motherboard, but maybe not yours, so you can try to boot with the Jun's driver and see if it boot with no KP and if the HW transcode work.
And if you cant boot because the jun's driver KP, you'll have to use an extra without it .
Still not sure what's happening in my J-4105. I´ll try again playing with extra.lzma. As I said, hw transcoding doesn't work here with your clean extra.lzma on 6.2.2. No /dev/dri. But it was working with a custom extra.lzma on 6.2.1. Actually I´m not sure who posted this extra.lzma. Maybe you, TeleDimm or Olegin. Unfortunately, I got no net when updating to 6.2.2 with this extra.lzma.

If i remember well, you have nothing to do, just plug the dongle and you'll get a new LAN ip. If it dont work you can try to disable the onboard NIC.
You're on a J4105B-ITX ? it's a RTL8111H, and this NIC is reported to work with 6.2.2-24922 Update 2.
J4105B-ITX here. Hardware transcoding is working on 6.2.1 update 6 and custom extra.lzma.
I tried and updated two times on a test disk 6.2.2 changing extra.lzma, deleting extra2.lzma on 1.04 loader and deleting /usr/lib/modules/update/* . It worked flawlessly but none of the two times I tried hardware transcoding was working.

Alternatively you can use a dongle USB3 > LAN, a one with a ax88179 chips like this one > https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00MYTSN18/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What is my best to use this USB3 ethernet dongle? Should I disable MOBO NIC? Or should I left internal NIC enabled and add another NIC on grub.cfg?

I'm using the 1.04b loader - ds918, i replace the extra.lzma in the loader with the one by real3x.
Did you left extra2.lzma?
Is hw transcoding working for you?

I'm not a linux wise indeed 😨
I would like to use some temporal files in RAM with some scripts, but I can't see any tmpfs in DSM. Any clue to use RAM filesystem?

I'm sorry.
My Mobo on 1.30. https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/J4105B-ITX/index.es.asp#BIOS

Yes. You should see screen like https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/lsi-9211-8i-it-mode-stuck-during-loading.8183/ if you flashed IT firm and ROM bios. Not if you only flashed only IT firm. In that case passthrought in "blind" mode. That referring to your old PC. Things could be different on J4105B. Not sure what happens if ROM bios flashed to LSI because of the lack of legacy BIOS mode support of the J4105B. I never tried because my LSI was ported from other PC without ROM, and worked after plugging.
Once more, are you sure you don't need to crossflash the LSI card?. Just like
https://marcan.st/2016/05/crossflashing-the-fujitsu-d2607/
https://www.servethehome.com/ibm-serveraid-m1015-part-4/
https://techmattr.wordpress.com/2013/08/30/sas-hba-crossflashing-or-flashing-to-it-mode/
Sorry for not posting in German. I just feel like hijacking this thread.

@Eduardi no, I'm flashing with another PC that is in compatible mode. I can not get freedos to run on the J4105B.
@jensmander danke für den Tipp, werde ich morgen noch mal flashen und dann versuchen..

And did you try if it works on this PC?

Hello Eduardo,
I have now flashed the bios so. but it does not work He sees no hard drives How are your bios settings? Can someone else help me? I am really on the verzeifeln ..
Marhal
p.s Yes I can boot from the front USB
Sorry to hear that.
No special bios settings here.
Advanced->ACPI Configuration->PCIE Devices Power On ( For WOL)
Advanced->Storage->SATA Hot plug
Disabled 2COM, HD Audio and some other things not used.
I guess you should try your LSI card on another PC. If not flashed ROM but IT firm, it should passthrough , but not booting from these SATAs.
Which brand is your LSI card? If IBM or DELL you have to crossflash.
Did you flash the card on J4105B MOBO?
Regarding front USB, working USB4_5 here, but not the other 4 front USB. Did you connect cables to front USB3_1_2 and USB2_3 headers or only to one of these headers? http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/J4105B-ITX.pdf

As you know, you'll have to edit /etc/synoinfo.conf and optionally /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf to match to your config. I set MOBO 2 SATA ports as eSATA. According to my preferences:
J4105B-ITX has 2 sata ports and 10 USB ports (5 USB2 y 5 USB3.1). LSI 9211-8i obviously has 8 sata ports.
First come the 2 MOBO ports and then 8 from LSI.This way:
0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0011 = esataportcfg
0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 1111 1111 1100 0000 0000 = usbportcfg
0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0011 1111 1100 = internalportcfg
for f in "/etc/synoinfo.conf" "/etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf"; do sed -i 's/esataportcfg="0x.*"/esataportcfg="0x3"/g ; s/internalportcfg="0x.*"/internalportcfg="0x3fc"/g ; s/usbportcfg="0x.*"/usbportcfg="0xffc00"/g ; s/maxdisks=".*"/maxdisks="10"/g' $f; done
Good luck
PS: Please, would you be so kind to tell me if front USB can detect USB flash drives?

Avago LSI-9211-8i and Dell PERC H200 Crossflashed to Avago. Both Flashed_LSI-9211_P20.00.07.00 from https://www.broadcom.com/support/download-search/?dk=sas+9211-8i
Flash only 2118IT.BIN, not MPTSAS2.ROM. For XPEnology you don't need boot from Disks. Flashed ROM will slow booting NAS and can be problematic with J4105B UEFI which doesn't support legacy mode BIOS.

Hi,
Asrock J4105B-ITX + Avago LSI92211-8i working here. All in a Hp N54L Box. 1.04B DS918+ DSM 6.2.1 ☺️
All working fine but shared front USB3_1_2 and USB2_3, which can detect composite devices (keyboards and mouse) but no USB flash drives. But this is another story.
Not sure about your problem. Unfortunately, I can´t understand German to help you. I'm spanish.

Flash the Mac is not an issue, after contacting Asrock support, they gave me this tool (wMAC_v1.0.61.zip)
you must run this tool from windows 10 cmd line, i did a win 10 enterprise temp install then a run that tool as usua,l wMAC c XXXXXXXXXX /s
et voila
Yes, you are right. They gave me same tool, just before Christmas and they told me Asrock would be on holidays untill 2th january. I didn't dare flashing on Asrock's holidays and been busy later... Thanks a lot

I just upgraded my HP Gen7 (N54L) with a Asrock J4105B-ITX + Avago LSI9211-8i. It was a little tricky, but I did it. My second plan was to buy a new case. This one.
By the way. Asrock Gemini Lake are only UEFI compatible, not legay BIOS (CSM mode). I don't know if it bothers you, but you would´t boot Freedos, for example. No way to flash MAC and some other issues.
-
Finally, I didn't buy a gen10. I bought a J4105B-ITX to upgrade my gen7. Maybe a little tricky, but amazing job anyway.
-
Maybe I'll buy a GEN10...
I've searched and read all the forum about HP Gen10 & XPEnology, but still not clear.
Please, which baremetal loader/DSM are successful for GEN10?
I'd install a dual port intel NIC, by the way. What then?

Just use jun's 1.02b loader, that works for the N54L & 6.1.3 Update 5
What about USB-UPS? Is UPS detected or do you need USB hub?

Creo que no podrás poner los SATA en AHCI. Arrancará, pero no reconocerá ningún disco duro. Salvo que le instales una controladora SATA más moderna. Pero prueba.

I tried another AMD platform (Asrock QC5000-ITX/PH - AMD Quad Core) yesterday and it works without modding UEFI. I mean without disabling C1E. Not even sure if this option is available. v1.02b. First option. Baremetal.
