asaf Posted May 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2023 (edited) Hi guys, BIG problem here. My NAS is not accessable anymore. I just see "Sorry, the page you are looking for is not found." error message when I try to access the NAS. It's XPEnology on bare metal HP ProLiant Microserver Gen8. Initially I used XPEnoboot 5.2-5967.1 (17/07/2016) but it was long time ago and I don't really remember if I updated it afterwards. Can you tell what should I do to troubleshoot the problem? rojoone2 Posted May 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2023 Did you recently do an update? Have you tried to find the NAS on your network through your routers IP table? You can download the Synology Assistant from the Synology Download center and use that to see if your NAS shows up.

I know the IP if the NAS and it shows up on router Clients page with the name I gave it when installing. I already tried the Synology Assistant and followed all their instructions and suggestions - to hook it directly to the PC, to disable firewalls and other real time scanners and so on. The assistant cannot find it. Could it be that the bootloader doesn't work? I used an SD card for that purpose.
rojoone2 Posted May 4, 2023 Share #4 Posted May 4, 2023 Connect a monitor to the NAS and post what is shown on the screen. It may not be booting up all the way. If the SD card has gone bad you will need to rebuild the loader.

Obviously I did an update to DSM 6.1-15284 - it's on the second picture - and the bootloader is DS3617xs 6.1 Baremetal with Jun's Mod v1.02b. In my defense I'll say that this happened 7 years ago... This is a video of the whole bootup process: https://share.vidyard.com/watch/ctaEaDEJWoXSHJJQWdoon8? It ends up with this screen: Then I tried http://find.synology.com and to my surprise it found the device! However the MAC address and Model name are missing. Then when tried to Connect to the device got this error message: What should be the next step? Edited May 5, 2023 by asaf
