steveharman Posted June 28, 2022 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2022 HI, I have an existing XPen install which contains a gigabit NIC that is no longer required. I'd like to remove the NIC and use it in another box. As my boot image is currently configured with the MAC addresses of the two NICs, it feels like good practice to remove the NIC which I'll be taking out from the config. Is it possible to mount my existing USB boot image, edit out the NIC I'm removing and recreate the image again? And if so...the all important question.... how? Thanks,
flyride Posted June 28, 2022 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2022 You are assumed to be running Jun's loader with DSM 6 based on where you posted this. cd /dev mkdir /mnt/synoboot1 sudo mount synoboot1 /mnt/synoboot1 cd /mnt/synoboot1 Then you can navigate to, and edit grub.cfg. No image recreation required.
steveharman Posted June 30, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted June 30, 2022 That's fantastic and yes - assumption correct (I should have specified). Many thanks for the steps.
