Update to DSM 7

Hi,

I am Mees. I have a HP proliant ML310 gen8 v2, with 16gb EEC RAM, Intel Xeon E3-1220, 2x 2TB WD Red and 2x 240GB Kingston A400 (for cache).

I run Xpenology, DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 6. DS918+. 

Can i update to DSM 7? I can not find it of i can and how.

Can someone help me?

You should not upgrade past 6.2.3 Update 3.

 

There is testing with a new loader for 7.x but it's alpha status, and its development appears to be in jeopardy.

Correct.  I'm running 6.2.3 - 25426 on my converted DATTO and it's running perfectly.  I also own a Synology 418play.  Speed between the two devices is exactly the same on my home network.  the 418 is running the current version of 7.x.  

 

Just for the fun of it I did try to update the DATTO to a higher version 6.2.4 and Synology stalled during the load.

 

Fingers crossed that a new loader works out.  If you like the synology product support them.  I purchased my 418 before converting an old DATTO.  Like DSM much more than TrueNas.
