ForTech Posted January 25, 2021 #1 Posted January 25, 2021 Hi I'm new to this. I have an old Dell T320 with 8 SATA drive bays which I've populated with 8 matching 1Tb drives. When I log on to the DSM and try to create a volume, it only sees 6 drives. Has anyone got any ideas why ? Thanks. Quote
flyride Posted January 25, 2021 #2 Posted January 25, 2021 (edited) How are the SATA drive bays connected? The T320 has a lot of controller options. How is your system configured? While you are at it, it would helpful - as always - to provide information about the loader and DSM versions you are running. EDIT: I see you are on 5.2, the final version of which was released six years ago. You may want to upgrade to a newer version of the software and the loader in order to resolve this problem. https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/13333-tutorialreference-6x-loaders-and-platforms/ Edited January 25, 2021 by flyride Quote
ForTech Posted January 26, 2021 Author #3 Posted January 26, 2021 Hi flyride Thanks for the quick response. The Server is a Dell T320 with a PERC H310 controller, 24Gb RAM, single Zeon processor. Each of the drive bays are populated with a 1Tb SATA drive. Where would I get the ISO for the DS918+ ?, and will that support all 8 drives? Thanks for your time. Quote
