z-vap Posted October 1, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2014 So I know that the DSWeb gives me /video and /music, but I was looking for a way to also get /sickbeard or /couch or /whatever also on port 5000 (externally port 80 forwarded to 5000) Does any one know how this can be accomplished? Or are there any resources available for me to look into?
Kanedo Posted October 2, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 2, 2014 You can look into mod_proxy module for apache to see if it fits the bill. If this is for personal access from a remote computer, you're much better off just setting up a VPN server than trying to do all these port forwards. anthonyuk Posted October 2, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2014 After the recent security issues I will never have standard ports open to the internet. VPN is best as mentioned. It is so easy to setup on any mac/pc/phone/tablet that anything else is not worth considering.
