TheLegendOfMart Posted April 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2014 My motherboard has gone faulty in the NAS and the board is discontinued so I don't want to buy a second hand model that is the same. Assuming I buy a compatible motherboard can I just swap motherboards and boot from USB and it will all be there? If not how do I do it without losing everything on the drives? Schnapps Posted April 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 20, 2014 If you're using jbod from the mobo and not any raid array, there is no connection in regards to other hardware components than the HDDs, so go and buy the damn mobo The worst thing it can happen is that your UPS might not work. The data is secure! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TheLegendOfMart Posted April 20, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted April 20, 2014 I don't use any kind of raid on the mobo, the drives are just plugged into any old SATA port and configured the pool in Storage Manager.
