dodgyv6 Posted March 31, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Hi guys, totally stumped with this. Have got Xpenology all installed, and its an amazing job, so thanks to all the guys who made it possible. Have got a 4 drive volume up and running on a HP N54L, but have now added an extra 3tb as a 5th drive but cant get Xpenology to detect it. Have tried setting the BIOS to AHCI and IDE and the drive is seen in the BIOS every time, but it is never detected in XPenology to let me expand my volume. Also tried SSH, also doesnt detect anything other than dev/sda - dev/sdd. Anyone else run into this problem and fixed it?? Have flashed the BIOS to allow all ports to run at full speed etc, so any pointers would really be appreciated Edited March 31, 2014 by Guest

dodgyv6 Posted April 2, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted April 2, 2014 Bit the bullet and fitted a PCI-E SATA controller and hooked the 3tb up to that - seen straight away by Xpenology and added to the volume. Still no idea why the drive wasnt seen on the Optical port, but sorted now.
exir Posted April 3, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2014 Hi, i actually have the same problem. I have 4 drives installed wich are showing up as 4 volumes in my nas but the 5th drive doesnt show up. it is visible in the bios. So if anyone knows an solution for this? Btw, what pci-e sate controller did you put in? Ive also tried to connect the disk to the onboard esata but that doesnt work either...
