jonsey Posted March 31, 2013 #1 Posted March 31, 2013 Hi,today i've found this interesting project surfing on the web,i've a GK802 HDMI Stick,is an android minipc with 1gb of ram and a quadcore iMX6 Freescale processor. Is possibile, maybe in the near future,to install XPenology on this device? Thanks for any answer
XPEH Posted April 1, 2013 #2 Posted April 1, 2013 And what can you imaging yourself to do with this installation? Synology DSM is a Network Attached Storage OS. Specialized server distribution for handling and sharing storage over the network protocols, It has some additional small apps suitable for small server on the network to complement the primary functions. HDMI mini PC, can be a client for the network, to receive the video streaming for example and to show that video to TV, but as a server I don't see the use for it.
jonsey Posted April 1, 2013 Author #3 Posted April 1, 2013 Thanks for reply!Well, how i can see XPenology on a pc,the HDMI stick is a sort of "pc" connected directly to a tv.
XPEH Posted April 1, 2013 #4 Posted April 1, 2013 You probably can try to install XPenology on the real PC with hard drives and turn that PC in to a network server. Load it up with videos and turn on network streaming. After that you may connect your HDMI stick to that network stream and play your video on the TV. Installing XPenology directly to HDMI stick will not give you anything.
