You try to do a reinstall? It may be migratable.
-
Indeed you were right as the volume was created on a DS213air before I moved it to a HP Proliant N54L, without knowing that DS213air specs limits the volume size to 16TB, and DSM isn't able to go beyond after a NAS migration.
Now my big problem is that deleting the volume also forces me to delete the packages, and from what I could find on internet, there is no way to make a backup of them with my custom settings, or the playlist database of Audio Station...
Can you move the packages to a different volume?

Try it with UEFI on or off to see if that matters.

Same as Elpee for me.
I'm using this, my onboard NIC did not work with DSM 6.

Hello,
I update Plex media server on my NAS and TV don't connect correctly.
I have tried a very old version and it works correctly. ¿Where can I download other version? I think version 1.3.2 work but I don't know where can I download it.
What version of Xpenology?
My Plex works fine.

Prior to Juns loader I considered 5.2-5592.2 to be my stable loader.
I did not use 5644, there were documented issues.
-
Do all cores show up if you use a os load on the device?
-
I can confirm mine shows 8 core available on my E5 2630L V3. I am bare metals as well.
I have hyper threading turned off so all physical cores are used. 8 is the max core count that can be utilized.
-
Are you bare metal? I have a E5 2630l v3 which is 8 cores. It worked with all 8 on the old loaders, I am running Jun's loader as well, I will check Friday.
Since Plex is still working fine I assume they are all being used.
-
BenoireI think DSM itself is limited to 8 cores, and that will include hyperthreaded too... So my dual L5630 with 16 'cores' only uses 8 of them.
If that is true, how does the synology FS3017 have Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 (two of them)? so does this product not utilize all cores then?
to bad i cant find the post back somewhere here in the forum, there is a hard limit for amont of CPU all other wil be ignored.
This was a limitation by DSM as far i understood. The WHY question related to FS3017 is not answered by this i understand, but still its for sure there is a hard limit.
I think Juno or quicknick provided that reply but not sure (as i cant find it back )
I have not checked on the new loader but I did confirm on the DSM 5 loaders, only 8 cores supported in total.
I have an E5 2630L v3 which is 8 cores with hyper threading. If I do not disable hyper threading all cores past #8 are disabled, confirmed via SSH.

When posting in the forum please give this information
Hardware: CISCO UCS 220 or VM
Install Type: Baremetal or VM (If VM specify ESXi or Workstation or Virtualbox or KVM)
Issue: Network or Storage or something broken
Then describe your problem. Post pictures or if you know the issue, such as my network card was not recognized.
[/size]
Here is an example of how to post:
Hardware: CISCO UCS 220
Install Type: Baremetal
Issue: Network
My network card was not recognized
To which I will respond, is your HW in the Supported Drivers List? If it is, then do you have serial connection to show that it doesn't exist? Or if you don't have serial, how do you know your card wasn't recognized. Check your DHCP leases.
Hardware: UNAS NSC-800 with SAS Backplane
Motherboard: Supermicro a1sai-2750f with I354 LAN chpset
LSI SAS 9211-8i
Install Type: Baremetal with DSM 5 currently installed
Issue: Network/Disks not found
Network card isn't recognized (no DHCP leases). However, when I connect an AX88179 USB LAN adapter, the other NICs then show up in Synology Assistant. At this point i then get an option to install but no HDDs are detected.
Thanks for any insight!
Are the SATA ports set to AHCI?

Quicknick - Thank you for your hard work on this.
-
I agree, mine idles at near 0 load. It's doing something and you do not realize it.
-
I think this is what you need. I found this 2 days back on a synology forum.
1. Login using putty or any other ssh client with administrator account (usually "admin")
2. You will be asked for a password. Enter the one for the administrator account
3. You will get a command prompt
4. Enter: sudo su -
5. You will be asked for a password. Enter again the one for the administrator account
6. You will get a command prompt root@...
7. Enter command: synouser --setpw root your_new_root_password

Supermicro X10SRi-F - all 10 satas work. On-board lan does not.

Hi,
My baremetal worked like a charm under DSM 5.2.x.
I've tried Jun v1.01 bootloader but network seems broken probably due to missing driver.
The MB is Asus "M4A78LT-M LE" and Ethernet Controler is Atheros AR8131.
Is it possible to get this driver added in the new DSM 6 bootloader ?
Is there a, not too complicated, way to recover it from DSM 5.x bootloader maybe without even recompiling it ?
Tx in advance
Intel Pro 1000 PT can be had on eBay for $15. I can confirm it works with the current Dsm 6 loader.
My on-board would not work either.

I played with this for a while before I figured it out.
My onboard LAN for my Supermicro X10SRi-F would not work for the Synology assistant. The network adapter for this board is Intel® i350-AM2 Dual port GbE LAN.
I popped in an old Intel Server Network card I had on hand and it was picked up almost immediately. Funny though, because it looked like post configuration, the integrated dual port connections show up.

You can only use 8 cores. I use bare metal so I do not have the VM answers.
-
8 core max, does not matter how many sockets.
Cores beyond 8 will be disabled. Suggest vm solution for that hardware.

I imported the ESXi build, added a new disk, and started it. It asked me to install DSM, restarted itself, and now I'm stuck on "We've deteched that the hard drives of your current DS3615xs had been moved from a previous DS3615xs, and installing a newer DSM is required before continuing."
The only options it gives me is Migration and Clean installation; tried both but still the same issue. Any solutions?
Go to etc.defaults find the version folder and edit it. There is a thread about rolling back from dsm 6 that I followed

Downgrade from DSM 6.0

It takes time for updates. Been using since dsm 5. This is a side project for most of the devs please respect that.

This is the first thing that came up when I searched it. It looks like a good reference.

6MBPS Upload is equivalent to about 600k of throughput. All your stuff is working correctly, limited by you Internet connection.

I have a supermicro board and use a PCIe Intel PT 1000 single NIC with DSM 6. My onboard was not picked up either. No need to disable onboard for DSM 6 though.
Never had a BIOS corruption issue.
Xpenology.me for downloads.
