With VirtIO i have : (Proxmox <-> DSM)
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bitrate Retr [ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 31.3 GBytes 26.9 Gbits/sec 0 sender [ 5] 0.00-10.04 sec 31.3 GBytes 26.8 Gbits/sec receiver
If you have other VMs in Proxmox that connects to DSM over Network, VirtIO is much faster.
Thanks for information. I made test with E1000 card: (Proxmox <-> DSM)
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bitrate Retr
[ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 6.72 GBytes 5.78 Gbits/sec 0 sender
[ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 6.72 GBytes 5.77 Gbits/sec receiverVirtio is really faster, but I think E1000 is enough also
Maybe i make now loader with virtio in afternoon, I will test it also...

How can I make this test?

you would need to choose e1000e in the vm config to use the e1000e driver
In proxmox has only e1000, havent e1000e

I use the VirtIO Network Controller without problems in Proxmox. It was faster than E1000(e)
./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/redpill-load/master/redpill-virtio/rpext-index.json
I tired e1000 and virtio also. For me E1000 faster and lower cpu usage than virtio.

I will test this usb method, is there any advantage one way or the other? usb vs sata boot in pve?
I had to issue shell command to get sata boot to work too. I have to look and see what that was, I will post when I find it.
Last, you are second one to say 918 7.1 acpi works... It did not for me, can someone post the exact url for ext to add? I must have used the wrong outdated version or something. But no one has gotten it to work in 3622 correct?
If you need sata0 then use usb boot. I think there is no other advantage. If use sata0 then you can see in gui, you can detach, delete, reconnect etc with one click. With usb dont.
Sata use: qm importdisk 107 /path/of/the/loader/tinicore-redpill.v0.4.6.img local-lvm
107: number of your VM
I use this ext for acpi: ./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/develop/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json
It is work with 918+ 8 times out of 10
I tired it with 3622 also, but dont work for me.

Just wanted to verify, building tcrp loader for proxmox pve vm, it boots from sata and vid/pid does not matter, right?
or is there a way to make it boot from usb (virtual usb) inside proxmox? The method I am using is very pieces together... I am learning piece by piece from different methods for proxmox build.
Is there anyone who has successfully added acpid shutdown control in proxmox vm? even adding the acpid doesnt seem to work. I have to manually shutdown in dsm or force close the vm running in proxmox.
Usb vid/pid does not matter. I think satamap is neccesary, I always use satamap command.
Easy way: use RP loader sata0 and boot sata0
Hard way: you can boot from usb also, but you cant set it in GUI, you need use command line:
args: -drive 'if=none,id=synoboot,format=raw,file=/var/lib/vz/images/109/tinycore-redpill.img' -device 'qemu-xhci,addr=0x18' -device 'usb-storage,drive=synoboot,bootindex=5'
It boot from usb
The acpi button works for me 918+ 7.1 on Proxmox

Is there any solution to the 920+ 7.1 hdd detection problem during VM?

Check @FOXBIvideo tutorial on YT. There is simple manual how to update this information. Basically, you see what is assigned to your DSmodel (it is a fix value).
Ram is assigned dynamically. Whatever you see, your system uses hardware of your machine. It does not matter what is displayed in CPU section.
You got a little misunderstood. It doesn’t matter to me what the DSM shows. I want know that, if it's worth giving more than 4 cores to the virtual machine? I gave it 6 core. Can DSM use more than 4 cores?

I have read here some time. I build the Loader with my own Scripts for myself, but this is a realy great Project.
I have tested the TinyCore on a Backup of my DS918+ 7.0.1 KVM Proxmox Machine to Update it to 7.1!
All is working fine and run as expected.
ACPID is working fine. I can shutdown the VM with the Button in the Proxmox Web GUI.
Virtio is also working fine for the LAN Adapter.
I startet the Tinycore Image the same way as the original redpill via a virtual USB Drive in the VM.
./rploader.sh update now ./rploader.sh fullupgrade now # Edit custom_config manual or: # I have manual edit the config. I have original Serial and MAC Adresses. #./rploader.sh serialgen DS918+ #./rploader.sh identifyusb now #./rploader.sh satamap now #(run if custom-module -> /mnt/sdb3/auxfiles is missing) mkdir /mnt/"$(mount | grep -i optional | grep cde | awk -F / '{print $3}' | uniq | cut -c 1-3)3"/auxfiles; sudo ln -s /mnt/"$(mount | grep -i optional | grep cde | awk -F / '{print $3}' | uniq | cut -c 1-3)3"/auxfiles /home/tc/custom-module; ./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/develop/redpill-virtio/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/develop/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh build apollolake-7.1.0-42661 rm -rf /home/tc/oldpat.tar.gz ./rploader.sh clean now rm -rf /mnt/"$(mount | grep -i optional | grep cde | awk -F / '{print $3}' | uniq | cut -c 1-3)3"/auxfiles rm -rf /home/tc/custom-module ./rploader.sh backup now
I tired your methold. I do it step by step. Virtio lan work, but ACPID not! I cant shutdown the VM with the Button in the Proxmox Web GUI! What is diferent?

I understand. The only way now then is to run e1000/virtio extensions before build, after all this is just one line extra.
I added to my script a vi user_config.json line also, to stop the process and check/add/or modify "mac" addresses.
To be frank I do not understand why serialgen creates random mac value. I think for both, BareMetal and VM mac setup should correspond to network adapter mac, isn't it?
Yes, I dont understand too. After serialgen command, I edit the config file, and delete generated mac address, and I write into manualy the mac address of my VM lan card.

Maybe the devices that can be auto-detected are passed-through devices?
Anyway, I will distribute "myv.sh" as FOXBI allows.
Whether tc automatically finds ext or the user manually adds ext, I will match the user's free will.
I tired and install 2 new VM system on proxmox. All hardware are same (4 cpu, 4 GB ram, sata0=redpill, sata1= 100GB virtual disk and Virtio lan card)
VM1: 918+ 7.0.1 The Redpill auto detect Virtio lan card, build loader, 7.0.1 starting, no need any extension
VM2: 918+ 7.1.0 The Redpill dont "see" the Virtio lan card, build loader, boot, but the loader dont has IP address, I cant access the DSM
Why, and what happend?

I've tested "VMware vmxnet3" network card settings in Proxmox - works smooth with standard build command (without extra extension download of e1000 or virtio).
These do not need to be fixed or added to m or my scripts anymore.
For those who want to use e1000 a better option is to request updating extension links repository the standard rploader.sh build works with.
This fix will eliminate Proxmox users issue permanently.
920+ have the same status still - no hard drives detected still (I tried with virtual Sata driver only).
Yes I know vmware network card is working. I think this card emulation is not the best way under proxmox. Emulating an emulated card in another system is not the best solution...
And in my host has 2.5 GB ethernet card + 10 GB switch. I want to use more than 1 GB lan speed with nas. This way I need e1000 or virtio driver too.
920+ I tired virtual and real hdd also, but dont detect.

Has this permission error problem been resolved?
Shouldn't we focus on this yet?
Pocopico guided not to use unnecessary sudo.
This is because sudo is used on its own as needed in ./rploader.sh.
Shouldn't we follow the developer's instructions? If I use your script without sudo then it make that errors i posted it you before. If use sudo ./m.sh DS918+ then ths script run successfully.
I asked you, can you add that 2 lan extension to your script? If not, then how can we (proxmox users) use any extension?

This shell script was not created with VM in mind, but I heard that there are users who have already used it.
From what I can tell, it's a matter of authority
Run as sudo./my.sh or
You didn't run it on the root account, did you?with sudo its working fine also on proxmox.
an idea: maybe it is possibe, the script will ask I want or not install e1000 or/and virtio lan card extension. It is important
for proxmox useres.
The acpi dont work under proxmox in 7.1 918+. Does the acpi extension be added automatically by the loader?
Something news about 920+ hdd detection?

What is not working about it? the build command or adding the ext? they both work and the apollolake is 918 and its clearly listed in that ext url
"ds918p_42661": "https://github.com/jumkey/redpill-load/raw/develop/redpill-acpid/recipes/universal.json"
./rploader.sh build apollolake-7.1.0-42661
will build a 918 v7.1 loader.
I used this link: https://github.com/jumkey/redpill-load/raw/develop/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json
I can add the ext, and I can build the image. The function not working. If I press the power button, nothing happend.
Under 7.0.1 it is work, I press button DSM shut down, but unter 7.1 nothing happend.
I tired your link also:

I can't do TC because it doesn't have a function yet
I tried 7.1-42661 with DS920+ built with TOOL-CHAIN
It doesn't seem like all Haswell CPUs don't work.
The same Haswell, G3420, failed
I only replaced the CPU with the E3-1220 V3, but it was successful a while ago.
What is the difference between the two CPUs? Is it the difference between having and not having an iGPU?It found hdd too? I can boot 920+ with 7.1, but dont find hdd

just change broadwellnk to apollolake
./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/master/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json
then build loader: ./rploader.sh build apollolake-7.1.0-42661
Not working, I tired and wrote here some days ago...

I added the acpi extension to loader:
./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/master/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json
The build is successfull, it write acpi2 added to loader
I start the dsm 7.1, it boot, but the power button dont work. If I press it, the dsm dont halt.

Maybe you know, why dont find any hdd 920+ on 7.1?
