Does this give something ?
ls /lib/modules/ | grep "cpufreq"
ls /lib/modules/ | grep "cpufreq"
acpi-cpufreq.ko
cpufreq_performance.ko
cpufreq_powersave.ko
cpufreq_stats.ko
yes, it's there. Is it possible I could have disabled it in bios? I recall there was an option to power save for cpu in bios

What syno model do you use ?
What is this command output : cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_driver
Thx.
it's DS3622xs+ DMS 7.1 was built with RedPill Tinycore loader. I had DS3617xs+ build same way, it worked fine
interesting but /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq folder doesn't exist at all
bash-4.4# ls -l /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 cache drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 cpuidle -r-------- 1 root root 4096 Apr 26 17:51 crash_notes -r-------- 1 root root 4096 Apr 26 17:51 crash_notes_size lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 driver -> ../../../../bus/cpu/drivers/processor lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 firmware_node -> ../../../LNXSYSTM:00/LNXCPU:00 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 power lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 subsystem -> ../../../../bus/cpu drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 thermal_throttle drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Apr 26 17:51 topology -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Apr 26 17:51 uevent
Could someone check DMS 7.1 if /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq exists?

unfortunately doesn't work anymore on 7.1
cat: /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor: No such file or director
It was a great script!

Hi members, I would like to share my experience.
I have HPE micro Gen10 and I have installed 7.0.1 with update2 without issues, just using tinycore.
Just worth mentioning after the succesfull installation, bios boot order changed from the USB to the installation disk. After fixing the boot order, I can load the OS.
Thank you @pocopico for the tinycore.
How did you install u2? Tinycore installs 7.0.1 for me without update 2

@gorski I've spent the last day or so trying to get a baremetal (even tried a vm in proxmox) install for 3617xs using tinycore. It comes up in syno assistant, you can push the pat file, and it appears to complete the install and reboot, however when it comes back up, you go through the same install loop ( syno assistant indicates status as not installed) another member here advised it might be updating during the initial install, to latest version of 7.0.1 which appears to break the install. I tried blocking the machine from going out to the network, at the router level a few times, and then by disconnecting the ethernet cable, just after it begins the pat file install, but no joy - still getting the install loop. I'd be more than happy to try anything else to get a 3617 working - open to any suggestions!

Did you wipe the disk before the new install without network, make sure the disk is clean without old failed install

Thanks for the info @ngsupb. So you mean disconnect from internet after I upload the .Pat file and DSM installation starts?
Yeah, exactly

Did anyone succeed in installing broadwell? DSM installation gets stuck 10 min countdown timer. @Invaliduser
Had same, so I did a fresh install but turned off internet access, it does some updates during the first run to update 2 version which seems breaks the install
