There is a plex plugin for E² receivers but I havn't really played with it yet. It's called dreamplex.
The DUO² has its own dedicated transcoding chip so it doesn't really hammer the CPU (which is duel core 1.3 GHz anyway)
There are loads of options/configs for transcoding, you just 'play' until you are happy with the results.
I have no issues streaming from my DUO² to tablets/mobiles/Raspberry PI etc etc via local network or over the internet.

I use a VU+ DUO² that also does transcoding

MSI A88XM-E45
Thanks!!!
Do you know that will work with XPEnology?
What about usb3 and wake on LAN?
Does it have an embedded graphic card or I must buy a CPU with embedded gpu?
Sorry for the lame questions.
I read the chipset is compatible

Hi,
I just managed to install DSM on my DIY Nas. But I have a question.
I installed 4 HDD into my NAS, but in the DSM I only see 3 HDD. May I right to say that the DSM is installed in 1 of the HDD and the HDD is unable to be used?
Can you get a screenshot?

Worked perfect for me (baremetal) on 3 machines.
You must be doing something wrong
-
The command lines in SSH don't work : no such file or directory.
It does work, you have to goto the next step before sending the command
-
Does it ever change from 34°C? or is it fixed no matter what?
-
Have build 3 bare metal setups now all with different boards/CPU's always shows 40°C
Can people with bare metal setups please check theirs? I'm pretty sure this is a glitch and will always show 40°C
Even with the system in sleep it is 40°C even with the case open, same with the CPU at 90% transcoding with Plex.
CPU core temp is 26°C with SSH
login as: rootroot@192.168.x.xx's password:

Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
DiskStation> cat /sys/bus/platform/devices/coretemp.0/temp1_input
26000

que? (Even google won't translate it for me - sorry! )
Not difficult to translate
He says the HDD won't work as well as network problems

I know it is only two ports but I can confirm the MSI 4256-020 Star Sata6 works perfectly (ASM1061 is a no-go for me)
-
I have an ASM1061 SATA3 card (only 2 ports) that does not work for me (tried on 2 different bare metal machines)
Might try a Marvel chipset card sometime.
I suppose there is a lot more choice if you are happy with SATA2
-
Why not use Nanoboot?
What version of DSM 5.0 are you trying to install?
-
DO you need to forward any ports?
-
I have a bare metal setup (DSM 5.0-4493 with update 7 using Nanoboot 5.0.3.2) all working great, my mainboard has 4 SATA3 ports and I want to expand.
I have a SATA3 2 port PCIe card (ASM1061 chipset) but it remains undetected.
I even tried a space PC and even gave Gnobbot a go (just as a test) and no joy so I'm guess this card isn't supported?
Any idea on how to get it working?
Card works in Windows so its not a dud.

OK, thanks
Any idea on how to fix it? seems stuck at 40°C.
It seems to be a common problems but no idea on how to get it to read correctly
Why would you think the reading is not correct? Look at your hard disk temperatures.
A solution would be to update your airflow in your case.
HDD's never goes above 30°C (normally between 27-29°C)
I say it isn't correct because it NEVER moves from 40°C, even under load.
If you search the forum you will find other people who have the same issue (HDD temp works OK but thermal status temp is froze at 40)
If I SSH this cat /sys/bus/platform/devices/coretemp.0/temp1_input I get 29°C

What is the thermal status figure for? is it CPU temp or system temp?
-
Download from server interface

Works OK for me using a bare metal setup
-
What happens when you click on "update and restore" ?
-

MSI H87M E33 mainboard
G1840 CPU
4GB Kingston Fury memory
2x3TB HDD
Nanoboot 5032 and DSM 5.0 update 5

Built a new setup but having a really annoying problem. I can't reboot
This is what happens.
system is not in ups safe mode
unmount root [1]

unmount fail, killall again

Dreamplex seems to be a client and not a server.
Having said that its not needed
You can control everything via web interface
