  1. Quick question, is it possible to run plex in docker while supporting transcoding? The reason why I bring this up is would this be a work around the requirement for real SN/Mac. I would like to use hw transcoding but using 918 with ivy bridge is not supported to my knowledge

  2. - Outcome of the installation/update: SUCCESSFUL

    - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2

    - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs

    - Using custom extra.lzma: NO

    - Installation type: BAREMETAL - w/ Intel NIC / Gigabyte z68xp-ud4

Exactly, packages, giving me error messages about not compatible with hardware, I’ve found out it’s because of the use of 3617. So just create a new USB for 1.03b/3615 and load the same 6.2 pat file for 3615? I thought perhaps it wouldn’t let me install unless I use a newer version, such as 6.2.1 but I can’t do that as my nic is Realtek based.

Also just realized im on update 2 of 6.2

  5. Hey guys,

    dont know if this is the correct section of the forums, but here we go;

i upgraded from 6.1.7 to 6.2, i also went from 3615 to 3617. I’ve now realized some packages I used aren’t compatible with 3617 hardware, is it possible to switch my loader to 3615?

    thanks

  6. So browsing some classified ads, some noob posted a picture of his synology with a clear as day picture of the serial and Mac, does it matter what model it is to be used with my machine? What’s the advantage of using such numbers on my machine?

  7. Hi folks,

So I'm looking to do a minor update to my xpenology hardware. Originally why I got in this I built a machine with a asus b85m-g, intel i5 4440, 16gb of ram... I then thought Id switch my tired desktop pc in favor for the hardware i built my NAS with. So my current NAS hardware is a gigabyte z68xp-ud4, intel i5 2500k and 16gb of ram. So I'm contemplating of using the orginal hardware I once bought that I'm currently using as my everyday desktop and just build something new. My only concern is my gigabyte has 8 sata + 2 esata, the asus has 6 sata which falls short for the number of drives i have now..

Any recommendation of sata cards, reasonably priced?

  8. when you setup a new volume, it won’t do a parity check as there’s no parity to check. It can prompt you to do a sector check which can be skipped.

If you need to replace HDDs, it’s one at a time and it will do a parity check on each replacement.

  9. Currently running latest 6.1.7 baremetal on a gigabyte z68xp-ud4 with i5 2500k and 16GB Ram. I want to install another instance of xpenology in Synology VMM. I’m having a hard time getting anything working. I’ve looked around the web for a working OVA file that I can import, so far no luck. Anyone else try this and have success? Please share if you do. Thanks.

  10. I was in the process of replacing a hdd in a 6hdd shr setup. Power was lost during the process. Now I don't see my volume anymore. What can I do?

    Thanks
