  3. Hi guys,

I'm currently running tcrp 0.0.8.0, dsm 7.1 42661 update 2, I already have 3 x 4tb wd reds configured to raid 0, could I add another 4tb wd red drive to the storage pool and add the drive to volume 1, I have other drives on volume 2 and 3, I am going to remove these altogether. Is it better to do a clean install with fresh bootloader, or could I do this from storage manager, I know I will have to do the satamap on the loader

    TIA

  5. Hi guys,

I'm using a PCI-e Intel nic at the moment that's working fine, my motherboard had a killer networks e2500 killer networks lan that I'd like to get working, are the any extra drivers available? I'm running DSM 6.2.4 using tinycore-redpill loader.

    TIA

  6. Hi guys,

As we have a choice with tinycore-redpill, I was wondering which version of DSM they prefer 6.2.4 or 7.1. My server is mainly used for streaming plex and storage, the main apps I run on it are plex sabnzbd, sonarr, radarr, docker, dsget and download station. Are there any pros and cons to each version?

    TIA

  7. Hi guys

I'm trying to boot tinycore-redpill on my machine that has an msi z270 m7 motherboard. It's currently running juns loader 1.04 with DSM 6.2.3, I wanted to get tinypill-redcore booting to go to 6.2.4. I installed tinycore-redpill 0.4.5 on my test machine and it worked fine, booted in created loader without problem, my main pc will not boot from the usb stick I get :-

error: disk 'hd0, msdos3' not found you need to load the kernel first.

I have tried both uefi and legacy images, the bios on the msi is set to legacy+uefi, can anyone help

    TIA

  9. Hi guys,

As pocopicos loader works well on my test server I'm going to install 6.2.4 on my main server (currently on juns loader running 6.2.3), I'm going to do the satamap from the loader menu but just need some advise to make sure it correctly identifies. I have 6 sata ports on the motherboard and 4 sata ports on a SATA PCIe x1 Marvell 88SE9215. What would be the correct SataPortMap and diskid?

    TIA

To be safe, if you have the 1GB image, to fully upgrade the contents of /home/tc , i would consider runnning through the following process :

    ./rploader backup now
./rploader backuploader now (it will create a backup of the DSM loader under /backup of your TCRP usb disk,  which you can use later if you want to restore)
./rploader fullupgrade now (it will also overwrite your user_config.json. A copy will be created under /home/tc/old)
    ./rploader backup now

Thank you for your reply, I have used the commands you sent everything went ok, I got a couple of errors on the upgrade, but everything boots fine.

    tc@box:~$ sudo ./rploader.sh fullupgrade now
    Performing a full TCRP upgrade
Warning some of your local files will be moved to /home/tc/old/xxxx.2022-Mar-09-53

  11. Hi guys I have redpill loader 0.4.5 running dsm7 42218, I have tried to update to 0.4.6 using this, I want to stay on dsm7 42218 for now.

Boot server hit a key when 3 options gome up pick option 3.tinycore builder.

    When booted use ssh command

sudo ./rploader.sh update now, system tells me there is a script update do you want to install the new version, pressed y and it updated.

At this point I rebooted the server back into the 3 option menu, picked usb boot and let it boot, I didn't rebuild the image, is this procedure correct to update the loader?

    TIA

  13. Hi guys

I have DS918+ running on my system using Jun loader 1.04b with dsm 6.2.3-25426, Intel apollolake cpu.  I am trying to add synocommunity repo via the package centre but keep getting the error message invalid location, is there any fix for this?

    TIA

  14. Hi guys,

I've downloaded movies and they are in a video folder to play through plex. I've just noticed each file has a different owner, permissions are  0666,0775,0777 owners are:

    root

    sc-sabnzbd

    sc-nzbget

    Paul

Would it be better to assign the files to one user to clean up the folder.

    TIA

i just looked into kernel source 4.13..12 and it looks like it was implemented the same as the e2400, just a device id and a special exclusion for a quirk

if you are willing to test i can try to implement it

just PM me if you have the board and you want to test a modded alx driver

Thanks for the reply I will pick the board up on Wednesday if its OK to message you then

  16. Hi guys,

I'm currently running DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3, juns loader 1.04b, ds918+ on a MSI mortar arctic h270m. I think the main board is failing as 2 of the ram slots have stopped working. I've been offered an MSI z270 m7 but it has killer lan e2500 where the mortar arctic has Intel lan. I have a spare nc360t dual nic, is this compatible with my system as it is now, if possible I just wanted to swap boards over with the system intact.

    TIA

  17. Hi guys,

Currently I have 4 x 4tb wd reds as main volume 1, 3 x 2tb and 1 x 1tb drives. Volume 1 is on raid 0, the other drives on jbod. I have just picked up a 6tb and 4tb seagate hard drives, does anyone have any ideas on the configuration of the drives, I was going to keep the wd reds as raid 0 volume with 6tb, 4tb and 2 2tb drives as basic for backup, anyone have any other ideas.

    TIA
