  1. I have a GA-H170N-WIFI but only 1 LAN is working.

    Intel I219V chip and the other one controlled by an Intel I211AT chip.

    in DSM network shown I have 2 LAN. but actually 1 is not working.

    Anything I can troubleshoot here?

    Same here ! Only one works.

    If i use the mac of the realtek lan, the realtek works.

    If i use the mac of the intel lan, the intel work.

    They work only as one, not both of them work. I have to set mac1=MAC, when i set mac2=MAC (this isn't working).

    my grub:

    ------

    serial --port=0x3F8 --speed=115200

    terminal_input serial console

    terminal_output serial console

    set default='0'

    set timeout='1'

    set fallback='0'

    insmod part_msdos

    insmod part_gpt

    set locale_dir=$prefix/locale

    set lang=en_US

    menuentry 'Synology DS3615xs' --class os {

    insmod fat

    linux $img/zImage root=/dev/md0 syno_hdd_powerup_seq=0 netif_num=1 HddHotplug=0 syno_hw_version=DS3615xs vender_format_version=2 vid=0x0781 pid=0x5580 console=ttyS0,115200n8 sn=C8LWN00821 mac1=408D5CFFDEDA mac2=408D5CFFDEDG withefi elevator=your_magic_elevator quiet

    set img=$prefix/../image/DS3615xs

    initrd $img/ramdisk.lzma

    }

    ------

    I think mine is different situation, the Intel I219V is always not working

  2. I am using GA-H170N-WIFI, I manually extract the file to individual folder but doesn't seem the power button is working.

    My error. The S30acpid.sh has to be in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ otherwise the acpid daemon is not started on boot. Just type this under root user:

    mv /usr/syno/etc/rc.sysv/S30acpid.sh /usr/local/etc/rc.d/S30acpid.sh

    Or download updated power-off.tar.gz.

    Then restart your nas or start acpid daemon with:

    /usr/local/etc/rc.d/S30acpid.sh start

    Hi Arcao, thank you, it is working now!

  4. Power off button

    Here is the package. Just extract it, copy files and directories from power-off dir to root and reboot your nas.

    button.ko and evdev.ko prepared from quicknick 7274 kernel sources, acpid and config is from another thread on this forum.

    I compiled it in Debian chroot directly on my nas:

    cp synoconfigs/bromolow .config
    make ARCH="x86_64" oldconfig
    make ARCH="x86_64" menuconfig
    # set as module: Device Drivers ---> Input device support --> Event interface
    make ARCH="x86_64" modules

  5. Hi, I am new to Xpenology but I would like to start building a NAS using it.

    I have tested using my PC with Asus MAXIMUS V GENE and really like it. Now I would like build a dedicated one. here is my wish list

    Silverstone DS380

    Intel i7-6700K

    Corsair 2400Mhz 16GB x 2

    Corsair H80i v2

    HGST NAS 6TB x 3, WD Green 2TB x 3

    Future may put 2 more SSD for VM purpose.

    Option

    Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI (6 SATA)

    - can get locally in my place, cheaper USD70

    - Intel I219V chip and the other one controlled by an Intel I211AT chip.

    ASRock Rack C236 WSI (8SATA) - need order oversea

    - Intel® i210+Intel® i219

    I already bought the DS380 but I am thinking of UNAS NSC-800 because of the smaller in size but I not sure if it is ok to put a i7 CPU inside such a small case.

    Hope you guys can give your opinion about this build.

  6. So I've basically ordered most of the parts for my nas build...

    I'm getting the asrock c236 wsi mobo, xeon e3 1275, 32gb, and intel x550t1 nic.

    1. I'm worried about heat. I want to go with 8 drives - are the 8TB WD reds really cooler at 5900rpm than the red pros at 7200? If so I'll take the performance hit, but would rather not. Any other drive suggestions? How are people dealing with heat? Any issues?

    2. what is the most stable/optimal configuration... it seems like most people are running xpenology in a VM over sth. Is running on bare metal less stable (assuming your hardware matches the drivers)? If VM is the way to go, what are most people running it on top of? I've seen posts about people running it on top of freeNAS, unraid, regular linux, etc. What is most common? most stable? best performance? preferred VM? I'm mostly familiar with KVM so will go with that unless advised otherwise.

    3. Any other advice, words of caution, etc.? I've been running a synology ds414 for years... I love the interface but I've always been irritated by the low spec hardware. Hopefully this is something I'll be able to use for years to come.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers,

    hi, have you build with the C236 WSI yet? is it work with Xpenology?

  7. Coming Soon... (waiting for controller and case to arrive)

    XPEnoboot 5.2-5644.5

    CPU = Core i3-6100 3.7 Ghz

    Motherboard = ASUS P10S WS

    Chipset = Intel C236 (skylake)

    RAM = 32 GB DDR4

    SATA controller = on board Intel C236 + (2x) Supermicro AOC-SAS2LP-MV8

    Network = on board Intel I210

    RAID = 10

    HDD = (24x) Seagate ST3000DM001

    Video = on board intel from CPU

    Case = NORCO RPC-4224

    PSU = Rosewill RBR1000-MS 1000watt

    Is the C236 working fine with Xpenology?
