I swapped the boot file for the new loader by Jun. At boot, Syno asked me if I want to migrate. I clicked yes. Everything went very smooth, it worked perfectly. Also the update to Update 3 (latest) worked just fine. Thank you, Jun, it's amazing!

I was able to migrate on VMWare, thank you. Now I will try to find out how to use the new loader to go up to the latest version..

I'm successfully running a DSM 5 install on my Linux machine in VMWare (headless). Is it possible to upgrade it to 6? If yes, how? I tried to copy over the Boot image from here and boot my DSM 5 VM to upgrade to 6, but it didn't even boot (stops after the kernel messages). I also added a serial interface but it didn't help.

Thank you, but doesn't work for SMB mounts. They don't show up. If I mount them via ssh, it doesn't work either. USB should work but is not useful for me.

Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to index a network folder so it can be used with DS audio and DS video in DSM 5. I read several advices, but they seem to only work in older versions of DSM. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm new to XPEnology, but so far DSM5 works fine for me. I managed to install it in a VM (VMWare) on my Debian home server (headless). I'd like to use the Video Station app. It works fine, actually, but whenever it has to transcode the framerate goes down. I found out Video Station relies on several profiles for ffmpeg, depending on the Disk Station model. Since my very own hardware is much less powerful (but fast enough to transcode SD) than the emulated model, VS uses a profile my hardware can't handle. Is there a way to switch to a profile Disk Stations like the DS216 make use of?
