Thx for your responses, Both NAS has different MAC, is the first thing I check when see that behaviour. In fact both has dinamic IP and have different and no conflict in DHCP server. Well perhaps was some user mistake, but don't remember to config anything of that before installing the second Xpenology. Thanks for your time.

Hello Folks! I would like to ask if someone has installed more than 1 Xpenology in the same network with curious results. I try to explain myself... I succesfully install 1 Xpenology with DSM 6 with Jun's Loader and config for backup from a Windows 2k8 Server, and install several apps like: Storage Reports, Domotz or VPN Server. It still working from about 4 months. Now I installed one more Xpenology, but when load the DSM .pat file and reboot for first time (after initial setup using Synology Assitant), it got all the parameters of the first Xpenology installed, ALL CONFIG DATA like: - name of NAS - Config of LDAP (all Active Directory settings form fill) - APPs installed (obviously with no volumes created yet, didn't work) - Notifications configuration (email account, advanced config, etc) - More settings were filled automatically I supposed that all of this is because I use the same password for admin account, but this behaviour is normal between Synology NAS (or Xpenology). ¿? In the past the same thing, did it to me when own Synology DS115j, the only way to fix it was to reboot the NAS. Later with an update the bug seems to be correct, but searching in official forum and other webs, but trying some commands from ssh didn't work (like restart services or take own of some files).

Hola! lo lógico sería intentar reinstalar sistema y con el "Synology Assistant" hacer una migración de datos, quizás con la actualización se haya corrompido algo de DSM, siempre suponiendo que hayas reiniciado el NAS, y que a pesar de ello siga sin responder, a mi incluso con los Synology alguna vez me pasó, y solo respondían tras reiniciarlos. Un saludo.

Desde mi ignorancia/experiencia, 2 sistema operativos simultaneos solo pueden trabajar bajo virtualización, un servidor no va a arrancar los 2 simultaneamente, así que o al Windows 10 le instalas una aplicación de virtualización y dentro el DSM o directamente instalas un sistema para virtualizar ambos.

Hola de nuevo! pues sobre la MAC si no está serigrafiada o con alguna pegatina en la propia tarjeta, podrías arrancar un linux live y con el comando "ifconfig -a" podrías verla no es necesario que utilices el generador para Synology, además quizás sea más eficiente utilizar la MAC original de la propia tarjeta. Y sobre el PC que tengo Xpenology montado se trata de un Intel i7 4790 con 12GB de RAM DDR3, placa base MSI H97 PC mate (con 6 SATA) y 4 discos SATA de 2 TB (RAID 5). Saludos y feliz año!!

Hola! ilsildurs sobre los temas que comentas: 1º. el tema del JBOD puede no funcionar como crees, si tienes un volumen construido entre varios discos, al perder uno de ellos, perderás TODOS los datos!, ya que lo datos se almacenan distribuidos en el volumen. Podrás cambiar el disco a uno más grande, pero los datos se habrán perdido igualmente que si fallara. 2º. .Sobre lo del uso de los Cores, puedes ejecutar el comando "top" desde ssh en tu NAS, y mostrará cuantos núcleos realmente estás usando. Yo tengo un i7-4790 y me detecta los 8 nucleos sin problemas, de hecho a veces tiene que hacer transcodificación con Plex a más de 8 usuarios y el porcentaje apenas si llega al 50%, algo que con el i3 (el que supuestamente tiene el DS3615) no creo que pudiera con ello. 3º. ya he leído en algún post, que no es necesario el tema de las 2 MAC, pero sí recomendable. Ok abced, I only found problems with the VMs installations of Xpenology, but nothing about baremetal enviroments. Too fast (and excited) and surprised when the system boots with the new DSM. Then I'll wait for the future Xpenology packages. Thanks for your fast answers.

Thanks for your fast answers... The disks appears in the storage admin, but can't create neither "Group of disks" nor "Volumes". No SMART info available or Health Report from disks. Any ideas?!

I got DSM 6 working on a PC, not VM. The only way I got it: 1. Restore default configuration, in a installed 5.2-5644 PC system. 2. Boot with Xpenoboot 5.2-5644 USB pendrive 3. Access web for first config, but not use "manual installation", I choose "install now". 4. After several minutes downloading from synology, the system reboots with actual DSM 6.0.1-7393. I don't know if people can't update their systems or the problems about upgrading are VMs (VMware, ESXi) related. For now, the only service that doesn't work is "Resource Monitor", if open a message about network error appears, and close automatically. Thanks for the Xpenology community and developers!!!
