if the atlantic driver is not working properly it should be fixed, no need for 3617 as long as you have max 8 cpu threads and dont need the special raidf1 for ssd's yes but i'd suggest using ssh, needs to be activated in the webgui the vendor and device id's (including sub id's if present) will also be in dmesg the mac in grub.cfg is only important when using wol, but in most cases its nice to see the same mac all the time
