postdeals Posted January 8, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2014 How do you migrate the VMDK's from 4.2 to 4.3? I moved them to 4.3 directory and attached the VMDK's (SCSI 0,1 ) but when i login into 4.3 it sees those drives as unassigned and asks me to initialize meaning Formatting it. If you have another DSM copy with system installed, the system partition may not match and thus require you to reinstall the system (initialize) But I dont know how to migrate as I start off from 4.3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Djey Posted January 8, 2014 Share #3 Posted January 8, 2014 They should be detected as initialized state already, allowing you just to migrate system with Synology Assistant. Check in 4.3 that SCSI controller is same type as 4.2 VM (Paravirtual / LSI Logic ), attach order is the same etc ... Then start 4.3 VM and look for migrate option in Synology Assistant.
