pbfly Posted December 30, 2013 #1 Posted December 30, 2013 hi all ! if xpenology support VIA Nano 2000 Series dual core CPU ? who can tell me about this? thanks!
Trantor Posted December 30, 2013 #2 Posted December 30, 2013 It must be x86_64 compatible. I can add VIA CPU support in kernel if you want (currently only amd / intel CPU support).

nanomaverick Posted January 2, 2014 #4 Posted January 2, 2014 Hi Trantor, I am also interested for VIA Nano 2000 series support. It would be very nice. Trantor Posted January 2, 2014 #5 Posted January 2, 2014 Schedule for next beta What kind of system use this CPU ?
Trantor Posted January 20, 2014 #6 Posted January 20, 2014 Beta v5 include VIA CPU support : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1361&p=10677#p10677 Please give feedback
nanomaverick Posted February 16, 2014 #7 Posted February 16, 2014 Thanks Trantor. I will test it asap. In my case, I rent a dedicated server (hosted by Online.net) that uses this kind of CPU. http://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/dedibox-scg2

m4dm4n Posted February 20, 2014 #9 Posted February 20, 2014 Hi, sory to burst in like this. Is VIA EDEN cpu too old , or does your new build support it. I see i have an C7 cpu, that should be Centaur, and thus supported ? Getting to the point, I have an IGEL 3/4 minicomputer that would be perfect if I could use it as a XPEnology NAS. http://www.parkytowers.me.uk/thin/Igel/3210/index.shtml EDIT : And yes, it's a 32bit CPU (i686).

Only centaur CPU are supported, I think only your C7 will work.
m4dm4n Posted February 22, 2014 #11 Posted February 22, 2014 Only centaur CPU are supported, I think only your C7 will work. I tried to boot beta6 version, and as suspected, i got a message : "This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected i686 CPU". So, yeah, it would be nice if a 32bit version came up. I tried to compile it myself by directions on this forum. I just turned of x64, included VIA C7 platform, and VIA Rhine drivers in kernel, and while creating bzImage I got this error : arch/x86/kernel/sys_i386_32.c: In function 'sys_SYNOmmap': arch/x86/kernel/sys_i386_32.c:51: error: implicit declaration of function 'sys_mmap2' make[2]: *** [arch/x86/kernel/sys_i386_32.o] Error 1 make[1]: *** [arch/x86/kernel] Error 2 make: *** [arch/x86] Error 2 So , yeah, what now ? In that file, on line 51 I found : error = sys_mmap2(a.addr, a.len, a.prot, a.flags, a.fd, a.pgoff);
