Dennis14e Posted September 10, 2017 #1 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) Hello, I run Jun's Bootloader 1.02b with the latest version of DSM on my HPE MicroServer Gen8 and I accidently added my user to a group with no permissions to the Webinterface of DSM. The default admin user is disabled, also is SSH and Telnet. I already tried to use "resetuser=admin" on boot, but this don't worked. Can anybody help me? Edited September 10, 2017 by Dennis14e Quote
polanskiman Posted September 11, 2017 #2 Posted September 11, 2017 I don't think you have many choices. You locked yourself out. You should have at least have SSH running which as you said was not enabled. I only see one solution. Reinstall. The default admin should also never be disabled. Quote
Dennis14e Posted September 11, 2017 Author #3 Posted September 11, 2017 Thank you for your answer. The next question is probably: can I reinstall DSM without losing the data? Quote
polanskiman Posted September 12, 2017 #4 Posted September 12, 2017 Your data will not be lost at it is on a different partition but DSM will have to be reconfigured in principal. Quote
Kulla Posted February 1, 2020 #5 Posted February 1, 2020 Hi, I forgot my password to a xpenology 6.02 installation. I prepared a new USB stick, edited the cfg. file and started the NAS. I went to Synology Assistant to do the new install. Unfortunately, it only gives me the option to "connect". When I try, it doesn't accept the admin user with empty password. So I guess my old installation is still there, including the forgotten password. Reading on the forums, I got the impression that a new USB installation should trigger a reinstall upon which I can rebuild my old HDD configuration and get access to my data on the NAS. Where did I go wrong? Many thanks Quote
Kulla Posted February 1, 2020 #6 Posted February 1, 2020 When I chose "Reinstall" from the Bootloader menu, I get the following screen upon accessing synology assistant: Is that generally the right way to go? What do I have to do to get it to install? Thanks Quote
Kulla Posted February 1, 2020 #7 Posted February 1, 2020 Problem solved by remembering the password. Sorry for the bother. Quote
bedamusa Posted March 11, 2020 #8 Posted March 11, 2020 I have the same problem and cannot find a solution. I tried with no success reinstal. My version is DS3615xs 6.0.2 Jun's Mod V1.01. Any ideas? Quote

CristianH Posted March 17, 2020 #10 Posted March 17, 2020 Hello, I have same a similar issue as Dennis14e: I run Jun's Bootloader 1.02b with the latest version of DSM on a HPE MicroServer Gen8 and I accidently added my user to a group with no permissions to the Webinterface of DSM. I have default admin access and access to SSH as root. Is there a command I can use to regain access to the Webinterface? Can anybody please help me? Quote
