denmalley Posted October 26, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2023 As the topic states, my unit (baremetal running arpl loader, DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 2) never responds to a reboot/shutdown request. Waited an hour, no audible disk activity, I'm just back in the interface after refreshing the screen that says "your diskstation will shut down shortly." Any tips on how to overcome this issue? IG-88 Posted November 26, 2023 Share #2 Posted November 26, 2023 the kernel (from synolgy pre made) is responsible so if you checked the logs and can rule out other sources your options are either your bios settings you can change or some kernel parameter in the loaders (like in grub config on "normal" linux systems - as the loaders grub is just a "pre-boot" kernel you will have to add the stuff for synology's kernel elsewhere and that depends on the loader i do remember cases with dsm 6.x where adding a kernel parameter helped Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
