I saw in the same article that other users validate the updates on their baremetal system, so I wouldn't ask which hardware is better. However, I'm seeking for a machine that is power cost-effective. I noticed that some users are using xpenology on devices like the HP Prodesk G4 (I might choose combo/machine like this one) which depending on the model may have two or three sata ports. Will a PCI-E to SATA 3.0 Controller Card with 4 ports work in such a machine? I'm considering installing four disk (maybe 10TB). Do they provide enough redundancy? Additionally, I would primarily use this machine as a storage solution; I might install nextcloud, qtorrent, and other programmes, but nothing really special. Will an i3 suffice or do I need at least an i5 for that? Thank you in advance for your help and feel free to make any suggestions that would help me achieve my goal.
