makemyday Posted January 21, 2013 #1 Posted January 21, 2013 It would be nice if someone makes an emulator of COM1 (it controls fans, leds status, buzzer and returns synology id) for XPEnology, so there will be no need to patch the synobios.ko for our solution, because patching is bad
ZeroQI Posted February 6, 2013 #2 Posted February 6, 2013 http://smallhacks.wordpress.com/2012/04 ... -devttys1/ He "was able to find full list of the available commands in the source tarball in the libsynosdk/gpl/synosdk/external.h" “scemd” closed-source daemon seem to be able to be queried, so we may avoid having to fake a com port for this
jukolaut Posted March 10, 2013 #3 Posted March 10, 2013 synology's opensource package for kernel 2.6.32 contains the sources for synobios kernel module... not directly compatible with 3.2.30 and no support for bromolow but handy anyway!

What is the issue with Bromolow boards (I have one) Also does anyone know what chipset the real Synology uses? I know the CPU is Sandybridge but I cannot find out what chipset they are based on.
